Foods that make you fat

When I wasn't being weight conscious at all there were certain foods that would put pretty instant weight on me, while others wouldn't! It was really weird. Here's some of them!
Put weight on me FAST:
Peanut Butter
Taco Bell
Checkers
Chinese fast food
Icing
Didn't:
Potato Chips/Doritos
Cookies
Hot Dogs
Soft Pretzels
Publix foot long ultimate subs on multi grain bread with a ton of mayonnaise!
Seriously, I'd check the scale a day/two days later and the ones that put weight on me would add a good 5 pounds, and the other ones, despite SERIOUS mass quantity, wouldn't. Not a single ounce. Did any of you experience this?
EDIT: This is from later on in this thread:

OK, I think the point of this thread was totally lost. Just post your foods that (if it makes you feel better) put excess water weight on you quickly and unexpected foods that didn't. :-) It's for fun!

Excess calorie consumption is what put weight on you, not a particular food. IF you're taking about weight within a day or two, it's just body fluids, not fat.0

Ramen!! Probably because I used to eat 3-4 a day... Let the bloat begin. Or when my lunches used to consist of $5 large pizzas. Gee how did I put the weight on?0
-
All food that caused me to go over my daily calorie expediture caused me to get fat.0
-
Beer makes me gain about 3-5 lbs over the next 2-3 days.0

Haha, yes!!!! It's weird, though! The cheapy $0.13 ramens would put a ton of water on me, but the authentic ramens that (in my case) Koreans eat wouldn't!0 -

agreed0 -
Doritos you don't notice any weight gain.. obviously your not eating them right.... whole bags at a time.0

Every food makes you fat if you eat it in excess of your caloric needs.
Every food makes you skinny if you eat less than your caloric needs.0 -
My beloved WINE gets me every time :drinker:0

I feel that way about Thai food (Chicken Gang Dang) because of the salt content. I think I must be retaining a ton of water after.0
-
I only care about fat, not weight or water or whatever...so no foods.0

Well I put my 'red light' foods into 2 categories:
Category 1: Foods that bloat the hell out of me and make me retain water
and
Category 2: Foods that make me feel hungry a short time later, leading to excess calorie consumption
Category 1 - The Bloaters!
- Bread
- Pizza
- Pasta
- Dense sugary stuff (ice-cream, doughnuts, cake)
- Beer
Category 2 - The Munchie Makers!
- Wine
- Chinese takeaway
- Chocolate0 -

Hahah, I love it! Chinese take out makes me hungry too!!0 -
I LOOK at a beer and gain a lb. It's awful!0
-
Ones with chemicals eaten in excess0
-
Any food(s) that were eaten in excess0
-
Nuts from a can, etc! It's impossible to track a food that keeps ending up in your hand as you close the lid.0

There are foods that when i eat for dinner i'm a 2-3 lbs heavier in the morning. NOt water weight volume wieght. Things that are heavy and take longer to digest make me gain over night. THose are usually Pasta and rice dishes.0

Yes, this! Oh college. I used to tell myself that because I would walk to the Little Caesars (about 2 blocks away) that I could eat half the pizza...0 -

Indeed. Except I would tell myself I'd have just half, then the whole thing would magically disappear. Being poor is a hazard.0 -
Booze. Ugh! Even 5 oz of wine in the evening would consistently equal 3 lbs. the next morning - which would then disappear the morning after that and I'd be back to my never-changing normal weight. Freaky deaky.0
-
Everything in moderation but I've cut pasta out completely because I can't control myself. Pasta is always a bugger for people though.0

haha, I'm talking about a bag of doritos, three hot dogs, two soft pretzels, and a few handfuls of cookies! My body is an anomaly.0 -
For me- too much almond butter, too much ice cream.
Both are fine to eat, just not in the amounts or frequencies I was eating them!0 -

I love these threads how people single out certain foods and claim they made them gain weight.
NEW FLASH: too much of anything will make you fat. :yawn:0 -
Omg, fries!0
