Jewelry and Gym
I have been asked where my wedding bands are by married friends when i'm at the gym and I realize that among us I'm the only one without my bands. My husband and I don't go to the gym with our bands on because I hate having to make sure i don't get my skin pinched while doing weights or it somehow falling off. same thing with the husband.
So just curious, do any of you were wedding bands or jewelry at the gym?

of course I wear my wedding band, otherwise the women would be hitting on me NON-STOP !0

I prefer to wear no jewelry at the gym, I don't have a wedding band but I'd imagine I would take it off if it hurts/pinch. Just leave it at home somewhere safe so it won't get lost/stolen in the change rooms.0

I don't wear any jewelry. And no one asks if I'm married. I must be f-ugly. :grumble:
Seriousness...I don't wear jewelry. I lose everything...can't have nice things.0 -

The only time I wear my wedding band is when I dress up. I used to wear it to work all the time and would take it off when I went to the gym.0

Married people always wear their rings.
Many take it off for certain activities, e.g. doing dishes, some jobs, gyms0 -
I take mine off.
I don't care if it's mowing my lawn or lifting weights. My wedding band is gold, and that's really soft when compared to steel and I don't want it scuffed up, chipped or marred by weights, power tools, etc...0 -
I take off my wedding ring so it doesn't get mangled by the bar. I don't wear any other jewelry anyway, so I've nothing else to remove.0

Yeah.. about that... no. I wear mine when it's safe to do so. Now that I work in an office setting, I wear it to work, but I don't wear it in the shower, in the gym, hiking, cleaning, cooking/baking, etc. My husband regularly forgets to put his on when he goes to work and neither of us wear it to bed.0 -
First things to come off are my rings and necklace, they just get in the way when working out.0

I do not wear my wedding band at the gym because it falls off. Also, it pinches my fingers while lifting weights. I understand totally why you do not wear your wedding bands.0

Uh no... just check the google image results for "ring finger weight lifting". *shudder*0

My husband and I leave our rings home when we go backpacking or on outdoor adventure trips. This means we go on almost all of our vacations sans wedding rings.
I also take mine off when I work out, clean the house, cook dinner and wash dishes.
I only wear mine when I'm dressed up for work or going out.0 -
I am not married but I do wear a ring on my right hand and never take it off when I'm at the gym. Maybe it's because I do mostly cardio and don't have to worry about pinching when lifting or anything.0

My knuckles are bigger than they should be, but I have thin fingers so the rings are sized smaller than the knuckle, making them very hard to come off. I wear them 24/7. I'm extra super duper proud to be married and have no problems with weights.0

I take my band off when I hit the weights, because it does cause more of a pinch in my hands. If it's just a light cardio day, it stays on0

All my jewelry (including my wedding band and engagement ring) go in my purse and get locked away whilst I'm on the floor. My hands take a beating, my fingers end up swollen, and sometimes I cannot get my rings back on after deadlifts.0

I very rarely wear my rings at all, actually.
I bake and garden a lot and just generally get my hands really messy often. I like to do a lot of crafty things with the kids and then I'm cleaning up after them. I'd be constantly taking 'em off and putting them back on.
If I did wear them, I'd leave it at home when I went to the gym. I'm not a jewelry person in the first place and I totally would be that jerk that takes off the ring to shower and drops it down the drain or something.0 -
ignore this, I accidentally hit quote instead of edit on my above post.
Because I'm awesome.0 -
I'm not married yet but I probably won't wear mine to the gym. We're considering a wooden engagement & bridal set because of concerns with my metal allergies and because they look neat. With wooden ones you have to try not to get them wet too much though. I'll be taking it off for dishes and anywhere else I could get wet too. Still don't know what I'll do when/if I'm in the Navy. I'm not sure if wearing it on a chain and beneath shirt is a good option for wooden ones because I still sweat, and depending on what i'm doing I'm sweating a lot.
I don't really see the big deal about wearing your wedding band all the time, especially just to the gym and if it poses a risk of physical harm.0 -
We do wear ours to the gym, and all the time, except my husband takes his off when he climbs and goes to war.
I know a lot of people, though, who take them off to work out or whatever. I would definitely lose mine, though.
Oh, I take mine off when I'm working with raw (ground) meet with my hands. 'Cause finding *that* in your ring 6 days later sucks.0 -

i take my wedding band and ring off only when i am sleeping (since there are stones in it). i wear it to the gym, since i mostly go swimming. i don't want to take it off, especially since my chubby fingers make it difficult to do.0
