According to MY SCHOOL! Clinical medical assistant who is licensed in phlebotomy, lab testings, shots, x-rays etc. is a MEDICAL STUDENT. BUT this is not even the subject of this thread for f**k's sake!0

Stop using 'Im lazy' as an excuse. Its not like laziness is a disease that you have no control over. Replace 'I'm Lazy' with 'I Will' and just get up and do it.
You think I want to get up at 4.30am to go to the gym? I work 50hrs a week and have a 3 year old. Believe me I don't wat to but 'I will' do it as 'I will' get the results I want. 'I will' fit training into my schedule even if it is at @rse o'clock in the morning, 'I will' make healthy food choices as 'I will' be here for my family and 'I will' live the best life I can.
Honestly no one can change your mindset, no one can do this for you. Its all about you. Your guts, determination, drive, ambition and ultimate sucess. If your 'lazy' you just don't want it bad enough.

OP, This is from one of your previous posts regarding your "medical school":

Med school is not a certificate/diploma program. Medical school is graduate education that is undertaken once you've received a bachelor's degree. I believe that what you're doing is "Medical Office Assistant" program. That's not anything close to "Med School" and you are not a "Med Student." Unless you're some type of Doogie Houser, you've not completed 4 years of college and been accepted to med school.

Yes, it is. It is Medical Office Assisting. Med school is typically reserved for medical students -- students who are studying to be Medical Doctors (M.D.s).

Still in the same boat you are - got 4 midterms in the next week that I've been studying for, work to do, significant other to look after. I just found an extra half hour to work out, so my gym shoes are on and I'm out the door. Think you can do the same today?0

Laziness and excuses are what puts you in the position you're in. I don't think anything anybody says on here will help because you don't have the motivation to change yourself. I don't like waking up early and exercising but I do it anyways because I want the results.
Just get up and exercise, be active and stop complaining until after you've actually done something worthy of complaining about.0 -

As for your OP, maybe you're bored of the elliptical. Try new exercises - is there anything you find fun? Swimming, classes, group sports, etc?0 -
My main exercise available to me is also an elliptical, and I have had problems with laziness.
A quick question, do you like watching TV while doing your elliptical? It's actually the only way I use my elliptical.
Do you have TLC (The Learning Channel)? Otherwise are you able to setup a laptop or tablet within view of your elliptical? If either of those cases are yes, I highly suggest you try watching Brookhaven Obesity Clinic (there are episodes on YouTube - sucky quality but still works). I discovered that I could literally not watch that show and not exercise, even if I was just walking with a low resistance on my elliptical. Maybe you can find something that does the same for you if that particular series doesn't motivate you?
Once I started moving it was much easier to keep going. Now I start an episode of whatever I enjoy watching at the moment (Bones, Heroes, etc.) on Netflix instant play. I no longer have to specifically watch Brookhaven to get me started.

I really to hate stating "excuses" but I can't do anything extra. Weekdays I go to college really early in the morning, then I babysit and sleep. So the only exercise I can do is elliptical. It's the whole laziness thing..."oh gosh, elliptical, noooooo"0

Simple. You don't want it enough. One day you're going to be so unhappy with your weight and your health that you're going to make a change. Until that day, there's no need in trying to force yourself to do something you don't want to do. I know from personal experience.0

Okay, I asked questions before about support and motivation. Nothing seems to stick because im ridiculously LAZYYYY!!! Lazy to LIVE my life like a 20 year old, I will rather eat something and watch TV...And it's not that I even eat junk food or something, it's that I overeat, but now not about it. My life is passing past me and I just sit here like "merp, oh well". No...I do get motivated, I just GIVE UP to easy...and well I'm LAZYYY!!! Dictionaries should link my name when someone is searching for the definition of lazy...
How to overcome it? Any ideas what to change?
So funny. I think you overcome laziness by trying new things and finding what you enjoy. There's got to be something you are not doing that you want to do. That is how I plan on overcoming my laziness over the next few years. There is so much I want to do that I have not got around to doing.0 -

I don't have friends, no support, no hang out time, I'm a lonely wolf, well I call myself that. The only hang out is with my boyfriend, and he is ok with me not improving myself(and no he isn't fat or anything, he is a future marine).
I was thinking of joining military but again, weight is the problem. I'm too big for military.
Getting good amount of sleep is impossible most of the days. I'm a medical student that spends half a day in school, and when I babysit I study, I get to bed around 12-1 and wake-up around 6.30. Saturday is my sleep-in day because on Sunday I go to work.
After being on here I realized that weigh-wise my problem isn't WHAT I eat but HOW much I eat...and life-wise, I'm ridiculously lazy. I always "see" my success in my head but never get to it...
What about volunteering? Or doing something like AmeriCorps? Or disaster relief or something?0 -
stop being lazy. get up and do something. nobody can make you do anything but yourself. apparently you don't want it enough, or you'd get up off your butt and start doing something. you say you have no time, so make time. I get up at 3am to give myself time to workout in the morning before work. if you really want it, you make your own time.
This. Get off your *kitten* and move. I did it, so can you. Plus I'm concerned about being in medical school and the statement "I always 'see' my success in my head but never get to it..." Good luck to you.0 -
My dad always says to his music students "While you're waiting for motivation to strike, do some practice."
It sounds silly but I am extremely lazy and I use this all the time. How do I get motivated? I kind of don't. I'm not fist pumping yelling "YEAH LET'S WORK OUT! WOOOO!" I just make myself do it. It's really not that hard to get up and do something. Motivation (for me, I can't speak for anyone else) really has little to do with it and is just something I use as an excuse not to do something.0
