Well, as Darkrider42 pointed out, I have 10 more days. While I'm nowhere near where I thought I'd be, I do have a much better understanding of just how inactive I am in a month. If I decide to do this again next month I'll have a better idea of how much I'll need to push myself.

In fact, I believe it's time to go out for a walk with my husband now. We haven't taken a walk together in over a month. Time to correct that.

That's wonderful that you're going to go out for a walk together! Nobody says you have to do all these miles alone*! Glad to see you posting!

@sufferlandrian: We're not finished yet. Here, I rode 10K, swam 600m and rode back another 13K. My own duathlon of sorts. It helped that there was an actual triathlon race taking place on the same roads and while I was on these roads I acted like I was competing in the race :embarassed: Nobody noticed, somebody even offered me a bottle of water at a water stop

    exercise.png

I thought you guys were dead and here you are back alive LOL! I did 3 more miles this afternoon. Shall we all hold hands virtually as we cross the finish line this week?

    exercise.png
I almost finished up tonight! I did 10 miles (EVEN!) between running a little more than 5K and then biking...I really wanted to finish my goal tonight, but my son was done with his workout and playing basketball and was whining "Cmon Dad! I wanna go hoooooome..." lolol But I think that sounds nice if we do it together. We are all pretty much neck & neck now. :flowerforyou:

My best day this month…and I needed to catch up a bit. Knee swelling is still a problem so I'm trying to mix things up and find the stationary bike to hurt the least for the best overall performance. If I can do this right I can avoid a fourth surgery to my knee!

    1.6 Elliptical
    7.2 Stationary bike
    1 Mile outside walk

    10/20 Daily total 9.8 miles

Today I ran my first ever half marathon. Between that and a couple of miles walked today, along with previous workouts, I'm at 98.9/150. A ways to go, but I'm determined.

Congrats on your first half marathon. I hope to do mine this coming spring.

@MAASMOM2 - Not sure what you meant about it taking a long time to "find this post", but perhaps it's just cuz you're new to these forums and aren't familiar with how they work yet, but hang in there and you will. When you either "Reply" to the thread or "Quote" someone's post, all new ones get posted to the very end of the thread...which quite often will be on the same page you're already on. In any case, you might have to do a "Refresh" of your browser to see it and then you'll be able to navigate to it at the end by either scrolling down to the bottom or maybe you'll need to click on the last little page number in the "skinny blue bars" at the top and bottom of each page. You may be currently viewing Page 2, but when you reply or quote, the new message might end up on Page 3 or later.

Thanks! And for some people, running, like many things in life, is an acquired taste. Do it long enough, have a few victories and make some progress, and it will get in your blood. I've done a lot of different types of exercises over the course of many years of my life, and nothing has taken hold of me in quite the way that running has. Once you get to the point where you can run more than a few steps without pain, it is so simple and freeing. Give it a chance.

OYE! OYE! MESSAGE TO ALL @SS MOVERS!!!!!!

Well, I haven't run over the weekend (I never do), so I am not here to update my running miles, but I just wanted to thank YOU guys! :flowerforyou: :blushing: :flowerforyou:
My first half ever is in 7 days. I ran my first 5k ever back in April, a Spartan Race in May, already registered for the 2014 Spartan Race in my area next May. I haven't run 13.1 miles in a while, even though I did run it in the past. I soooooo don't feel ready for this!  I just want to cross that finish line, and don't really care about the time (yeah, right, that's why I told myself that finishing within 2h30m would be great!!! :blushing:  ).

So anyway, I tried to run as much as I could everyday, especially in the last two months, and whatever the results, I just wanted to thank you guys for all the support, and kick @ssing (not really a word, but today it is), and encouragement  . All of you @ss Movers made a big difference for kicking my b"tt this month, and I just wanted to thank you all. You guys are great, and I just hope that you'll all be back next month!

    :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Tomorrow, my goal is 9 mile run. We'll see how it goes.

Awwww, Speedy....you are doing GREAT!!! You've come so far and I know you'll do well. And it's been super nice having you around here in the MYAC threads again! :drinker:

@Darkrider42, thanks for your kind words. I will definitely keep active, it will just be in a low impact way for a while. I'm already itching to run but know that wouldn't be the wisest idea (especially since I'm still in pain just walking lol) so biking and toning it is. :)

Ran a breast cancer 5k today.. Got in a total of 3.16 miles recorded, but probably another 2 (that I am not counting since not recorded) just walking to and from the car..

@RAASY - Great job and for a great cause too! Thank you for that.

@FUTURE_ROCKSTAR - And great job to you too!!! Wow, so many of you are doing all these great events! I did sign up today to do the Run or Dye 5K (color run) next April. I did it this year and even though I was nowhere near really prepared, it was still a total blast!

@LOVEMYALEX - Can I just tell you how impressed I am by how many miles you've ridden this month?? WOW!

@ANACONDA469 - You absolutely should be proud!! Disability or not.... :flowerforyou:

@KAKIEM - SOOOOO close to goal too! :drinker:

    @LITTLEWORM - Sounds perfect. :smile:
