I don't get why spelling is such a big deal. PEOPLE! We could be bombing Labia any day now!
Bahahahahahaha!0 -
Your smarter then everyone else. We get it.0

Yes, it drives me crazy, because the two words sound very different when they're spoken, and I hear them in my head, sounding wrong. That said, spelling isn't a skill that I rate particularly highly, compared to math, reading, and having interesting ideas.0

nice headset OP.... said no one ever....

What drives me crazy is how many posts there are about these two words.0

I'm seeing more of "lead" being used as the past tense of "lead".
lead (noun): /ˈlɛd/: A soft, malleable metal in the carbon group with symbol Pb and atomic number 82.
led (verb): /ˈlɛd/: past and past participle of lead (below...).
lead (verb and noun): /lēd/: Various definitions, generally dealing with guiding.
Please, won't you think of the children?0 -

hmmm... I thought both "lose" and "loose" were spelled correctly.
Isn't this a conversation about grammar?

Oh my, this drives me insane as well lol. I have a friend that refuses to note the difference between "to" and "too", also "your" and "you're"... She claims she passed English with honors. I call shenanigans lolol.0

Definitely shenanigans! Excellent call.0 -
Lose VS. Loose ~ Why is this so hard for most people, it seems?
I don't get it.
(... and if lose/loose bothers you that much, you might want to stay away from these boards.)
Totally this! How often it has happened to me English speaking started ***** about my English, which is not perfect as a Dutch Swede. Try our language and see if you can do it as well as I can speak yours!0 -
To be honest, I didn't really ask for an explanation of why people do it, still drives me nuts regardless. And don't worry guys, it's not like it ruins my day when someone does this, so I'm not 'wasting' energy or whateva. Just wondering if anyone else was in the same boat.
Chillax dudes/ladybros. :glasses:
Bottoms up, Chevy & Stephen! :drinker:
There are times when it matters - job applications, Uni assignments, formal letters.
Chatting on forums - not so much.
Mind you, someone who then writes 'whateva' is rather like a kettle talking to a pot.....0 -
Makes me very crazy! Also what makes me crazy is when they say HALP
Wtf is Halp? do they not know how to spell Help?0 -

Haha, they're just using internet "lingo" when they say "halp".
It can be fun to talk to people like that at times, but on a regular basis, it gets really irritating.0 -

Umm, yes you did; "Why is this so hard for most people, it seems?" were your exact words.
The word 'Why' denotes asking for an explanation to me.0 -
In answer to your question - No it doesn't drive me crazy - but sanctimonious posts about other people's grammar and spelling do.0
