Finding the edge of a roll of tape; YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG!!
Here are some quick and easy ways to find it without going nuts.
(love the ponytails, by the way. Nostalgia, Pippi Longstocking.)

    670px-Run-your-finger-aroud-the-roll-Step-1.jpg
STEP 1: Run your finger around the roll in both directions and feel for the edge. If this works, you're done.

    670px-Put-flour-or-chalk-dust-into-a-small-container-Step-2.jpg
STEP 2: Put a bit of flour or chalk dust into a cup or small container.

    670px-Dip-your-finger-into-the-container-Step-3.jpg
STEP 3: Dip your finger into the cup or container.

    670px-Run-your-floured-finger-around-the-tape-Step-4.jpg
STEP 4: Run your floured finger around the tape. The edge will quickly show up as a white line.

    670px-Use-tape-as-required-Step-5.jpg
STEP 5: Wipe your finger clean. Proceed to use the tape as required. Easy!

    670px-Use-flat-side-of-a-pencil-point-on-light-colored-tape-Step-6.jpg
STEP 6: On light-colored tape, try running the flat side of a pencil point around the roll, instead.

I'd still advise you to take the above stated steps into serious consideration.

wow, you look just like laura prepon or DONNA in that 70's show..rawr.

And science projects are not fun when you need that peice of tape, have you ever found yourself in the middle of building a tent fort in the middle of the living room and you need to tape the corner of the blanket to the window? Dire situation.

Haha, but can you picture yourself doing it? Man, I'm so tempted to go measure some flour, take the tape out of its little deck/roller and throw flour on it now. Just curious about how long that whole process would take lol.

What's even more infuriating is when you have a wife that NEVER puts things back in the same place twice, so when you REALLY need a peice of tape you can't even find the roll of tape to infuriate you in the first place.

My fiance does this. Luckily, he always buys tape at the 99 cent store, so we know it's in almost every drawer where we live lol.

Oh my god hahaha. So have I! I even went with wood glue to put papers together and then disguised it with a messed up paperclip so it didn't look "so tacky" lol.

My wife has solved this problem. She just uses a WHOLE fricking roll on each present. Makes for really long time for trying to get to the present.

    Sigh

I beat that by asking for online gift card. Figure she can not tape those up. Then just starting thinking that she will most likely tape up the computer.

    Sigh
