Anyone is welcome to take anything that I say and twist, and distort my words, and continue to use them out of context. I don't really care. I have thicker skin than to lay awake at night worrying about it. I also don't feel like I can't resist continually arguing my point just to get the last word. Those who are doing these things know exactly who they are. Have fun!

Abandoning any defense of your nonsense is really the best thing you can do at this point.

Nope. That is not what I am doing at all. I just think it is absurd to argue the same point endlessly. Not everyone wants to come in and page through someone's pissing match. I don't have an ego issue so walking away is very easy for me. I am comfortable knowing that I am right, and I don't need to endlessly argue to make myself feel validated, and I do not need validation from anyone here. I know that is a hard concept to grasp, but I know you can get there with some effort.

If you really want a useful "cleanse" get a colonoscopy. When it's done you'll get a report and some awesome pictures.

I am comfortable knowing that I am right

I'll never understand how someone can simply go on believing whatever they want to believe, even though evidence to the contrary, and the contradictory and fallacious nature of their ideas, are presented to them constantly.

Nobody is twisting your words. They don't need to. I think you need to take few minutes to detach and then come back and read what YOU wrote. You just contradicted yourself so much that I honestly think you are confused and just typing defensively because you don't want to admit maybe you worded something incorrectly.

And OP- listen to everyone else about the detox bring a bad idea. Also, don't support bad choices. Of course your friend will do what she wants, but saying "you go girl" when you know it is a waste and potentially harmful, is not (in my opinion) being a good friend.

On the plus side, many more people read these exchanges than comment on them.

I'm open-minded. I was looking forward to hearing your refutation of what I understand to be the truth - - especially because you specifically asked for a dialogue. I was hoping to learn something new or further develop my understanding but instead, there was nothing.

So while I was hoping for a certain kind of learning, I believe your silence on the issue might be helpful to others in contextualizing terms like "whole foods", "cleanses", "detoxification", and similar concepts that are bandied about on this site.

In other words, this isn't about you, your ego, me, or my ego, or validation of anyone as a person. It is about the validation of information.

I don't have any proof of the detox claims or the arguments thereof. I do find it interesting that the word pesticides and toxins are thrown around repeatedly.

I would like to know some of the active ingredients that are being referred to as toxic and that our bodies cannot eliminate.

In my younger days I was a crop scout. I would help a farmer make decisions based on threshold levels of weeds and insects attacking crops and robbing yields. During that time I walked thousands of acres of crops that were sprayed with pesticides. Each year my employer had me take a cholinesterase test, which tests for different pesticides in your bloodstream as part of an ongoing study. They always came back negative, 5 years running.

I'm not saying that pesticides are good for you. But we followed the labeled re-entry periods before going back into the fields after application. Additionally, manufacturers have to spend millions on half life testing and applying those findings to pre-harvest intervals to attempt to make sure that those treatments don't end up in the food.

Lastly, the EPA has eliminated many of the most persistent pesticides that we had available in order to try and assure a safe food source. Adding this all up, and there is many less lbs. of pesticides applied to a growing crop each year than when I started in this industry. I'm not entirely sure that detoxes are all that necessary. Everything I read they like to use scary words to make their case, but rarely actually site specific instances or active ingredients that our bodies cannot naturally eliminate.

Lead has a half life in human blood of approximately 30 days during which time the body eliminates it naturally. Treatment entails removal of the source of Pb. In instances of lethal blood levels, treatment is chelation therapy.
Half life of mercury is approximately 60 days during which time the body eliminates it naturally. Treatment entails removal of the source of Hg. In instances of lethal blood levels, treatment is chelation therapy.

We can also discuss pesticides with the preface that they are designed to kill things. However, we're not looking at how nasty pesticides are, but rather pesticides as the antecedent to what we ingest, and the rate of ingestion and the rate of elimination of pesticides. This will vary pretty substantially based on what is employed when and how and what you ingest.

But because there is no correlation between pesticide-treated produce and adverse health effects outside of the realm of hokum and snake oil, it will be a hard discussion to endure.

What's the half life of THC to those who are curious for scientific purposes of course.

Irrelevant I'd say, because of hair testing :-)

Is there a detox for getting rid of the poisons that can be stored in your thick skin?

So in other words you're in calorie control? What's makes the difference if one counts calories and is meeting their daily macro/micro nutrients and exercises daily? There is no difference with the exception of money spent on a program.

  • there isnt really, its choice as wether you want to pay for it or not, the fact i pay for it keeps me going as it would be a waste of money if i gave up if that makes sense, it gives you a reason to keep going if you are struggling to keep to dieting, in all fairness i do feel as though the aloe vera really helps with digestion my skin is clear too, the reason i started it in the first place is because after loosing 4 stone i hit a wall what ever i did just couldnt loose, so i started the forever living programmes and never stopped.
  • I have tried Clean 9 and I am more than happy with it so far. The reason why I have decided to do it is that I have lost 2.5 stone since May till August, however since August I have lost nothing yet I work out as much as before, if not more as I am now training for a marathon in May 2014. And this is the reason for me to start Clean 9.
I have lost 8 pounds on Clean 9 and don't take me wrong I am fully aware that most is water. But I have been eating healthy before I have tried it, I dont like sweets and I dont do fast food or take aways. So not losing anything yet not doing anything wrong was getting to me.
Since I have tried Clean 9 I have lost 8 pounds, I have lost 5.5 inch in total over my waist, bum, arms and legs and I have lost 2% of body fat. I have so much more energy and my work outs are now more intense because of the newly found energy, even my personal fitness instructor noticed the difference in me and supports me for doing detox as I dont view it as a quick diet but as a detoxing my body to give me kick start to carry on. My health has improved as well as I have stick with the Aloe Vera gel after finishing the detox. I have actually seen such good benefits that I have decided to go ahead with selling the products myself to make little bit of an extra income for me.
I guess everybody has to try what they find suitable for them. I have find this very good for me. They don't advise you to stop eating, not at all, you still get to eat and they encourage you to eat mixture of lean protein, fiber and healthy carbs.
My friend has lost 33pounds since June since she went on Clean 9 and has not put anything back on. So I would say dont judge till you try. But also dont expect not to do any work and think that 9 days of detox will delivery miracle. It's about life change not about quick fix. I agree that people who do it for quick fix will fail and most likely put weight back on, its about cleaning your system, gaining energy and learning to change you eating habits. I know a professional rugby players who uses some of the products on daily bases, if it's good enough for them why not for an ordinary person?

So if that's something you'll pay for and sustain, then keep doing it. I'm not against programs that people can sustain in a healthy manner for life.

Our bodies do not "detox naturally". If we were all on the perfect diet that God intended this would be true. Did you know that some toxins such as certain pesticides get stored in The your body fat? the only way to truly "detox" your body is to adopt a whole foods lifestyle. Any refined carbs or sugar or anything else, will just keep your "toxic" state rolling. Don't forget the environmental "toxins" as well. Our kidneys, liver, and bowels can only do so much. People who think we "detox naturally" are really not thinking about the real ways our bodies store certain chemicals.
    Magical thinking at its finest.
    Completely unsupported claims...

BPA is one that actually disrupts the bodies hormones. I guess I should have mentioned in my first comment, that just because your body eliminates something, that does not mean it did not do some damage while it was in your body. You are welcome to bring some proof of you unfounded, and unsupported claims. I would love to see some evidence that what I say is false.

This is my first time ever seeing any of your posts, and it is pretty plain to see that you offered no evidence to what you were saying, and then when people provided proof against what you were saying, you went all 6th grade on them, and tried to blame them for "twisting" your words, when in reality they just copied and pasted from what you originally wrote. I would either actually prove what you are saying or stop posting false information, because you really aren't making yourself look credible at all. But hey it's the internet so anytime somebody proves you wrong you can just make something else up as to why.
