This thread really isn't going where I expected it to go
Speaking of not going where it's expected to go, also an acceptable birthday present.

Dad's always like to spend time with their daughter. Period. So take him to lunch, just the two of you. Or out for ice-cream and burgers. Sit and visit and talk about the two of you. He'll appreciate being included in your life.
If he likes to indulge in hard liquor, give him a bottle of it....Wild Turkey, Top Shelf, whatever it is....at lunch. He'll be tickled you thought of him....by himself....without your mom in there  telling him to stay out of the hootch.

I get my guy candy (he loves the christmas packages of lifesavers and starburst), and a bottle of Glenfiddich. He also gets new, heavyduty winter socks. I've never seen anyone be sooooo happy for new socks.

He might just be happy with the person who gave them to him.

No, seriously, he picks them out and everything. The decision making process he goes through looks almost agonizing. He loves his new socks.

I'm not buying my husband anything..

I bought him a Chevy truck for fathers day, and a bran new beverly shear for his 30th b day.. stupid tool cost 800. $. alone..
I didn't get crap for my b day.. mothers day... or our anniversary.

    a little annoyed lol !!

anyways, guys like toys, tools, or beer. At least I've been safe with any of those lol. Does he like any sports or TV shows?

If it's for your Dad, Just spend time with him! That's the most important thing. Get him a picture of the two of you.
Trust me, this year my father wont be with us... I would love just spend one more time with him for Christmas.

    Good luck!

Yeah, this is the problem. Men and women view the world differently.

One year, I bought a girl a tool set, I guess I was an *kitten* for doing that. Any guy would be stoked. And they were Craftsmen, so they werent crap and I spent a bit on them. But, women want pretty stuff, like a set of decorative towels or something. Something to hang on the wall, or whatever. Bleh!

So, when women look for presents, they are not using the right filter. Guys like stuff they can use. Just look at what he does. Hell, buy him a pair of channel locks or vise grips. Done!

I would be stoked with a tool set. My bro in law has always bought me tools for Christmas.

I lucked out with my husband. I buy him computer games and candy. This year, he's getting new headphones, a big butt bag of peanut M&Ms, and Skyrim GOTY (or whatever Bethesda is calling it).

It isn't that hard...what's his passion? Does he love his car/truck? Get him some detailing stuff. Sports? Get him tickets to an event. Sex? Give him some coupon for a free BJ or whatever his turn on is.

Haha I have already bought my dad everything I can think of over the years related to his passions, which are musical instruments, tennis, wine, chess and dentistry. Bacon maybe?

Did you get him a one on one with Nadal in the French wine country?
