What small accomplishment have you made recently?

I remember when I first started doing my Zumba Cardio Party DVDs. The first time through, I don't even think I made it through the DVD. Awhile later, I would collapse on the ground and lay there for a good while after it was over, haha.

Well, today... I got to the point where I decided to add a little extra to my work-out and did all the arm movements while holding my 3 lb weights. And in some parts where there aren't alot of arm movements being done, I did my own :) I know it might not seem like alot to some people, but it felt good knowing I was at a point in time where I wanted to push myself further, and actually felt good when it was over, not like I wanted to die ;)

What's an accomplishment you're proud of today?

ran a mile in just under 11 minutes. I usually don't time myself for each mile, but i did today since i got on the treadmill and started running right away. pretty awesome since i could barely run a mile in under 16 minutes in middle school.

it's amazing that as we progress, we are able to do so much more than we thought we could do. I never thought i would enjoy running, but now I run 3-5 miles a day most days.

I was able to fully cross my legs today without "helping" my leg by lifting it farther over. It seems weird but it's amazing how the little things remind of us of our progress.

i WILL be proud of my work out at home tonight. i usually find no motivation when getting home from work to exercise which is why i usually go to the gym right after work... and tonight i am faced with the famous problem and refuse to give myself a pass tonight! doesn't sound like much, it means a lot to me to find the energy after i've gotten home to exercise! i'll let you all know how it works out, congrats to you all on your accomplishments. we are AWESOME!

I started here at 247 pounds, in March, barely able to make it 10 minutes at 2.0 on a treadmill. I also had an extremely large hernia, as big as a tennis ball. On September 27th, I went for hernia surgery, at 176.4 pounds. On October 1st, I weighed in at 190 pounds. OUCH! October 13th I went back for a second hernia surgery, because another one formed, at 184 pounds. Today, 1 month and 1 day later, I weighed in at 175.2 pounds. The only thing I have been aloud to do since the first surgery, is walk very slowly. Yesterday she, my doctor, released me on exercise restrictions, most of the way. Today I did my first 1 mile, in 21 minutes, with 18 holes and all in my belly. 2 surgeries in 1 month, and a 14 pound weight gain. With a little determination, anything can be done!

My small accomplishment is LOGGING back in, and tracking my food today! It's 4:43 and I don't have any more calories left, but I know I can do it.

I decided to start eating healthy again. On Monday, I started using MFP again, and I'm really glad that I did it. Almost 2 year ago I did MFP and lost 25 pounds...about half of that has creeped back on, and this time I am determined to pull it off and some extra!
  • I accomplished another day of exercising and eating healthy. One day at a time...one pound at a time.

After losing most/all of the weight I wanted to lose, I have recently started exercising (not counting the 4 - 5 miles I walk every day at work) and I read somewhere that I should be able to do 25 - 50 pushups. Well, no way. I started out doing 3, then 5 and last night I did 7, I figure eventually I will get there, maybe, lol.
  • On Monday I signed up to a gym, did a pilates class have been eating SO good this week, and excercised hard last night too. Its been a REALLY good week for me, Im proud of every little step I've taken. diet -water- excercise.

Proud that good (nutritious) food tastes good again. At my high weight and bad habits I had no desire for fruit and salad. Now they are yummy!

I'm the same as you but with step aerobics. When I first did the dvd workout, I dont even think I could keep up with half of it. Never did the arm movements and just about could breathe by the end of it!!

Now, I'm jumping higher, adding extra arm movements and find myself having to slow down to keep pace with the class as I get carried away!

Also, 'man' push ups. I remember only being able to do one of those. Now I can do 25 no problem

It's amazing how noticably one's fitness/strength improves with a bit of work
  • I finished the first 2 weeks of 200 sit ups (with crunches, pregnant) and am now able to do 90 crunches non stop. Started week 3 today. :) I also finished week 2 of Couch to 5K and I can definitely feel a difference already.

I haven't eaten anything after dinner or late at night for three nights! I've resorted to drinking water instead.

I CHANGED my ticker....for a long time I have been content with the weight I dropped and wore it like a badge; when in fact, I need to double that drop, so I opted for a mini goal and have started a new program striving for the new me

I have recently conquered running two miles. I hadn't done that in over two years!!! It feels good to exercise now! I have stopped smoking and it feels awesome! Especially when I exercise. All together, I have lost 18.5 inches from all over my body!!! Keep up the great work, everyone!!!

I made a decision to re-join the local gym nearly a month ago and have managed to maintain going there on average 4 times a week! I used to go great guns on the gym for a week or two, then slack off a bit, but my motivation has remained consistent!

I joined MFP about 10 days ago, and have been really on track with my food and exercise diaries, and am finding this a really supportive environment, even if it is a 'cyber-environment'.

Since starting this lifestyle alteration nearly a month ago, there's been a noticeable difference in how I feel and my energy levels. In the past two weeks, I've lost 4 pounds. Which is higher than the goal I set for myself!

4 pounds is small beans, I know, but this is really the first time I've really tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle myself so I'm loving even the small accomplishments!

I recorded every single piece of halloween candy I put in my mouth today... wasn't going to do it b/c I only ate 3 marshmallows, 1 now and later, and 1 single sweetart. Glad I did b/c that tiny bit was well over 100 calories. I can't believe it! And I'm proud of myself that I logged it and didn't ignore it.

I've always hated cardio, but joined the gym at work and tried the cross trainer and rowing machine. When I first tried the cross trainer I was aiming for 5 minutes on level 1, but fell off it in a heap after 4 minutes. Now I use it as a warm up machine, doing 10 minutes on level 4. Same for the rowing machine, I started out aiming for 2000 metres, but didn't make it passed 1300 before crawling away from it gasping for breath. Now I do 5000 metres every morning. It shouldn't surprise me, everyone has always told me you have to stick with cardio to notice an improvement, but now I actually look forward to going to the gym to see if I can up my game a little. Going every weekday I am burning off 400-500 calories before work. Weighed myself today and I've lost 8lbs in 4 weeks.
  • When I was at my highest weight, one of my dogs, pomeranian, wasn't able to lay comfortably in front of me on the couch while I watched tv. A few days ago, he wasn't feeling well and I snuggle w/ him on the couch. For the first time he wasn't trying to stay on the couch, he was comfortably beside me! That meant alot to me.

When I lost about 10 lbs or so, it was starting to get too hot for me to want to walk outside. So, I purchased an used elliptical machine. That night I stepped on it and was astounded that I was exhausted after 3! mins of using it. Now, on the same resistance level, I can go for 30 mins. Recently, I've changed the resistance up 2 levels but have cut down the length of time in the workout. I was starting to get bored w/ it, now I feel challenged again.

**Edited to add: I went out to lunch w/ my bf yesterday. He decided that he wanted dessert and ordered a S'more type dessert. It came w/ some strawberries and a cup of melted marshmellows and chocolate, beside that was freshly made graham cracker stips. I had 2 of the strawberries and 1/3 of One of the graham cracker strips w/ some of the marshmellow chocolate stuff on it. That was a Major test of my will-power but I done it!
