Welcome team. (messed up on the dates, OOOPPPSSS!!!)

A week behind us, a new week in front of us. Some familiar faces and some new ones too!

This week, I would like to challenge each of you to set a goal. This one step - choosing a goal and sticking to it - changes everything. People with goals succeed because they know where they're going. Choose a goal that you want to reach this week. It can be drinking all your water, watching your sodium intake, exercising every day or eating all your veggies. It doesn't matter what the goal is, as long as you are commited to the challenge. Throughout the week, lets look at this 1 goal and see what we are doing. Are you struggling? Why? A goal is something you have to try for, not something that happens easily. Think about what you want to accomplish this week and why, then let us know what you are shooting for. And of course, ask for advice from your fellow teamies if you need it.

This is the new thread for the week. If you would like to weigh in and post your stats, please feel free to do so. Our weigh in days are on Fridays, however, some of us choose to measure our success by other means. You are of course welcome to do that as well. As always, please share what you feel comfortable sharing.

If anyone would like to start, (I haven't weighed in yet and will do so in the AM.)
The format is

Your ScreenName ~ SW/ GW/ CW = Total pounds lost

SW= your starting weight
GW= your goal weight
CW= current weight

Please use the quote function when posting your stats and copy the previous weigh-in and add your stats to the end of the list. This way we have a running list and it helps everyone to see everyone's results easier.

Welcome to a new week!! :0)~

    Welcome, glad to have you. It looks like you have lost 71 pounds so far, that is FANTASTIC!!! Sugar is always a hard one, but I know you can do it. You have come so far, I have no doubt it won't be a problem for you. Snacks are a good thing and definitely a great way to look at the exercise you are doing. Can't wait to hear how you accomplished your goals for the week. :bigsmile:

    Those are really great goals to have. I am also looking for some healthy sides for Thanksgiving. We don't like turkey, so we are going to have a pot roast and need some yummy side to go with it. Post any that you like, I would like to know what you pick. Have a fantastic weekend. :bigsmile:

    Hi everyone! I'm new to MFP, and it's inspiring to see so many people working toward a healthy lifestyle!

    gimedatnow: SW 128; GW: 105; CW: 126-128? <-- I'm really short.

    Goals this week:
    1. Sticking to my daily calorie goal, no matter what!
    2. Run 20 miles this week.
    3. Get dressed up for Halloween! :D

    Best of luck to all of you this week with your goals!

    Jenny
  • Gimedatnow- welcome! It sounds like you are on the right track. I couldn't imagine having a goal of running 20 miles in one week.
    Hopefully in a few months that can be one of the goals I list.

    JJ- you are doing so great! It is amazing the amount of inches you have lost from this new training program! Keep it up and keep inspiring me to do more!

    I did W1D3 of the C25K program yesterday and will do W2D1 tomorrow. I am a little nervous, but I know I can do it. I actually hope it is not too cool tomorrow, because when I did it yesterday, it hurt my lungs a little bit to breath the cooler air. I guess with this time of year it is something I will have to get used to. I know that I am going to keep pushing and working hard though. Hope everyone has a great Halloween! No candy for me!
  • Welcome to all the new ladies!!

    Kaltgelt great loss this week your doing an amazing job!!!

    Jennifer your doing an awesome job with your running and the lbs amd inches coming off are proof it's payng off keep up the great work!!

    I weighed in again Sunday morning, which I probably should not have, but I was down another 1.5 pounds. So I will take it. Really should only weigh once a week, but sometimes, I just can't help myself.

    Welcome to Jenny, glad that you are with us. So, did you dress up for Halloween and if so, what did you go as?

    Kelsey, you are doing so great with the C25K program. I am so proud of you. W2D1 will be a breeze for you. :wink:

    Cnbethea, How are you doing these days?
  • I did W2D1 yesterday. It was not near as bad as I thought it would be. I just really need to focus on my breathing. I felt okay while doing it, but after my poor face was DARK red for about 30 miuntes. Not sure why that happens. Anyone? Well, tonight I am gonna take it easy and just ride the bike and will to W2D2 tomorrow! Wish me luck!

    Kelsey-Great job on your run yesterday. There are all sorts of methods on breathing easier while running. I would try to breathe in for two and out for two, but I started to feel clastraphobic after a while. My husband just suggested breathing like normal and I tried it and it actually works for me. I do breathe in and out of my mouth. They say to breathe through your nose, well I just can't do that. Just try different ways and see what works best for you. Everyone can tell you their way, but what works best for you is all that matters. Keep up the great work. :drinker:

    Best of luck to you, Kelsey!

    Haha, well, I had an old pair of angel wings, but didn't want to do a repeat of last year. So, I made a construction paper beak and went as a tropical bird. :) How were your Halloweens?

    It appears that I fell a bit off the wayside today, but hopefully I'll make up for it with some exercise before the day's out. How do you guys manage your time while exercising? Do you prefer the morning or evening?
  • Thanks gimedatnow! I prefer to exercise in the evening. I read somewhere that your body is better equiped to work out in the evening. All your organs are functioning in full force and your body is just more awake. It also works with my schedule better.

    I have a field trip with my daughter tomorrow, so I will have to make sure to pack healthy snacks. We are going to the fire museum which should be fun, and then the park.

    Hope everyone has a great evening!

    Kelsey- I'm glad to hear the running is going so well for you. That is awesome!
  • Kelsey your doing an awesome job on your running!!! I love that C25K program it helped me run my first 5k back in June didnt really grasp a liking for running but it did make me feel empowered because my hubby didnt think I could do it!! :bigsmile: Also for me the best thing for the breathing was to chant while jogging my hubby is a marine and he had be singing his cadence (go figure) but it actually worked!! Also taking a long breath in through my nose and breath it out slowly through my mouth!!

    As for me I started insanity yesterday feeling good and excited this time I want to complete it with no errors I know life happen I am just praying that it doesn't get in the way of these next 63 days!! Also I measured for the start of it and the new month and I am actually down 7.5inches from the first of Oct so I was excited about that lbs aren't going down but the body is shaping up nice YAY!!!

    Sounds like you have a great creative mind. I went as a runner. LOL So creative. My band was playing Saturday nite, so it was nice to be in my workout clothes for the show. I didn't get nearly as hot as I normally do on stage. LOL

    Before I got this new job, I would actually workout in the evenings right when I got home from work, but I am now working on getting use to early morning. 5:30 am UGH!!! It will definitely take some getting use to. I do like doing my runs in the morning, so that works. Really you just need to workout when you feel is the best time for you. When you feel you have the most energy to get through your workouts. Let me know if you have more questions, I am glad to help. :bigsmile:

    Good for you. I am really excited to hear that. Inches are just as important, if not more so than that darn scale. Keep up the amazing work. How did you do on your fit test??? :drinker:

    Did my one workout this morning. Kinda weird only doing one, but I guess my body deserves a little break. LOL It was a good workout. I think Fire 45 Class is my favorite. Still getting use to getting up so early, but I know it will become routine as time goes on.

    Have a beautiful day everyone. Glad to hear that everyone is doing so well. :flowerforyou:
  • It has been a LONG day and I am exhausted. I have mirena so never know when TOM is here, but I am retaining water and ultra grumpy, so I am guessing now. I also want to eat everything in sight. I went to the fire museum and the park with 20 three year olds and was home with my kids for the rest of the day. My husband brought himself carl's junior home and I really thought about killing him. It smelled soooo good. I just went in the other room until he was done and then gave him dirty looks when I came out :). My mother in law came and releived me so I could go vote and run to the grocery store. When I got home, I jumped on the bike for 45 minutes and watched Biggest Loser, so I am feeling better now. Kids are asleep and the house is quiet!

    JJ- your body can definitely use a break. You are a workout machine! You workout more than anyone else I know! Thanks for all the GREAT advice. I will do W2D2 tomorrow. Couldn't fit it into my schedule today.

    CN- I am gonna try out some of your suggestions tomorrow when I run. Thank you! Awesome job on the inches you have lost! You are doing a GREAT job!

    Hope everyone has a good night and happy hump day tomorrow!
