Ok, so I know this is a "crash diet" but it's not made me hungry, I'm losing weight and I have energy and I'm happy. Been drinking lemon in boiling water throughout the working day and fruit and veg when hungry - I have my evening meal, something small and healthy.
My question IS - is it ok for your metabolism for you to drink mainly lemon water without much food at all - I KNOW THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT HEALTHY WEIGHT LOSS SO NO PREACHERS PLEASE! just an answer
Thanks guys x

You need to make sure you are gettitng your daily nutritional requirements to avoid any health problems.
I doubt lemon and a bit of fruit & veg does that.0 -
where's the protein? or do you dislike your muscles? (your heart being one of them)0
-
thanks for the preaching (see earlier comment!!!)
it was a straightforward question regarding metabolism. it is not a long term thing!0 -
if anyone can give me a straight answer please do0
-
no, in the short term it wont do any harm, but when you start eating properly again you will probably gain the weight back... therefor it was pointless doing it in the first place.... plus if you starve yourself you are more likely to binge... sounds fun!0
-
Simple, no preaching answer?
*NO*0 -
When you put lemon in "boiling water" you lose the vitamin C and other nutrients.0
-
Preachers no preaching!
In all seriousness. This sounds miserable and no amount of lemon water, even if it benefitted will make up for a crap diet. Eat at a moderate deficit and lose weight the right way. You knew what response you'd get♡0 -
if anyone can give me a straight answer please do
They did give you a straight answer. No, it is not advised. You kinda answered your own question with all the shouty caps; I don't think you really need us to back up your suspicions.0 -
Eat at a moderate deficit and lose weight the right way.
stop it with your common sense... it isnt wanted in here!0 -
Messing up everything from a nutritional point of view but you are concerned of your metabolism?
-not preaching - just stating a fact... Can we still be friends and share water and lemon recipes?0 -
By "no preaching," you seem to mean that you don't want anybody to disagree with you in any way.
Ain't gonna happen.
What you're doing is unhealthy. Stop it.
Eat at a reasonable calorie deficit and call it a day.
Nothing else is necessary for weight loss.
Really.0 -

the answer is no.0 -
You know bouts of malnutrition show up in later life as osteoperosis and advanced aging, right?0
-

YES - after 3 days your metabolism will start to adapt to a very low calorie diet.0 -
How about stop starving yourself and do things in the manner in which you know is the right way. Serious.0

I have a weird feeling you just called upon yourself a shistorm of preaching and loads of common sense from anyone passing by!
Still not preaching - can we be friends (pretty pretty please) and share recipes of lemon water?0 -

why even post a thread if you only want answers that conform to what you are doing?
but if it makes you happy ..yes, this is very healthy and there will be no long term side effects....good luck!0 -

I'd like to see you try over the interwebz!:laugh:0 -
No. Lemon in boiling water is not good for losing weight because you lack the proper nutrients and calories to sustain successful weight loss.
I said that as best I could without "preaching".0 -
OP- hot lemon water is good, but it should be incorporated into an already healthy diet comprised of protein, carbs and fat. My grandmother used to drink a cup of boiling water with lemon every morning when she first got up, but she also ate well.
Are you going to ruin your metabolism doing a few days of what amounts to fasting? No. Is it healthy as a long-term diet? No. But you already said it's not forever... I think you'll survive; but seriously, protein.0 -
NO0
-
In the very short term I doubt it'll have much negative effect. However, when you start eating properly again the weight will go straight back on anyway as happens in most fad diet so is that really worth it for you?0

This.
I am a fan of the hot lemon water in the morning, I feel like it helps with digestion.0 -
Ok, so I'm trying this new thing...it's exlax with a ipecac chaser. I feel great and I'm losing weight. I know this site is supposed to be about 'healthy' weight loss...so no preachers, please. My question is, is this good for my metabolism? I have an fruits and veggies and then make sure I have a small, healthy dinner..... :yawn:0
-
Look up 'preaching'. I can guarantee it doesn't mean 'disagreeing'. You clearly already know this is bad for you. Stop looking for validation for your ridiculous and unhealthy weight loss method.0

"I'm going to drive my car off a cliff into the sea, then float all the way to France. So should I float north, south, east or west to get to France? I don't want to hear from any preachers telling me that this is a bad idea and my car's going to sink so if you're going to preach at me, then don't!!!"
"Errrr.... I really think that's a bad idea.... cars don't float. In fact you'll be lucky if you don't drown. You won't get to France like that, although you might become shark food."
"I said no preachers!!!! It was just a simple questions regarding what direction France is in!!!"
What you are doing is a very bad idea, you can't post about doing stupid things on a public forum and expect people to not point out that what you're doing is stupid. If you want to go ahead and continue with this lemon water + veg diet, go ahead, but if you post about it on a public forum, you will get people pointing out the obvious flaws in it and giving you better advice.0
