Hi. I've been dieting for a while now and have lost quite alot but there is just one problem; the water. I can't drink it AT ALL, it just makes me feel sick and horrible. I can't drink juice because there is too many calories and soda is bad. Help?

Infuse it with oranges, lemons, strawberries, whatever fruit you like really. I used to drink zero pure water - now I can't imagine how I can drink less than 6 to 12 glasses a day. It really does make you feel so much healthier!0

Flavour the water .. I love drinking it ice cold with lemon wedges. Ppl add all sorts of fruits to water, even those fruity green tea bags.
Of course, there's the flavor packets for water you can buy as well0 -
I get all my water from coke zero, milk and coffee.
Can't remember the last time I drank a glass of water - it hasn't done me any harm.0 -
Same here.. drinking water makes me feel sick unless I am working out but then I only sip the water. I get the flavored liter of waters from like Walmart to drink. They are zero everything and the flavor helps.0

If water literally makes you sick, you need to see your doctor.
If you just don't like it... well #firstworldproblems
And the flavored waters from walmart/target are basically just diet 7up.0 -
Stick a shot of vodka in it....0

Have you tried drinking bottled water rather than tap water?
I moved to a different country and can't drink the tap water, I can't stand the taste, so I switched to bottled water and that tastes a lot better. Alternatively - you can get these tablets called 'ZERO Highs', they're calorie free and give you some electrolytes as well as flavouring your water. They have nice flavours like apple0 -
Weird, last night I took a sip and said "I [expletive deleted] LOVE WATER" It's amazing!0

Initially I hated to drink water like you, then I found Arizona Tea-Sticks http://www.drinkarizona.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=275 - helped me a lot and over the time I got used to drink water also without this :drinker:0

If your used to drinking fizzy and sugary drinks then switching to water is a bit of a shock to the taste buds. You do get used to it, I remember when I only drank pop and drinking water just seemed awful but now its become a habit and I drink about 4 pints a day.0

Mio and the other flavor infusers have been my god send. I drink almost a gallon a day now, just add a squirt and go.0
-
sip on bouillon broth ….add twice the amount of water because the salt content is a bit high .0
-
Stick a straw in it and away you go0
-
add whiskey to it0

I empathise with you, I can't stand the stuf2f.no matter how much I add juice, flavorings etc.it sloshes around in my belly, making me feel sick.
That's why I drink up to 10 cups of tea a day. Some medics say at least your getting fluids, others say, it's a diaretic and I need drink more water. I've not drank pure water for 25 yrs, but get 3 litres of fluids at least each day. I also don't know what to do now I'm on this strict calorie controlled diet. I know it encourages metabolism. However, I won't make my life uncomfortable by forcing waste, either pure or flavoured.0 -
As some above said try flavouring it with slices of lemon, orange, cucumber or tea bags.
I wouldn't recommend coke, milk or powdered juice, they've got waaaay too many additives. Losing weight is not the only healthy choice for our bodies, eating and drinking clean is also important.
Is it mineral water what you tried? Sometimes I don't like the taste of it and I go for purified tap water.
Try different brands, maybe there's the perfect water for you out there0 -
Sometimes the best way to start drinking water is to force yourself. If you have a water bottle, make it a goal to drink 1/4 of it by lunch time, 1/2 of it by mid-afternoon, all of it by dinner, etc. Keep upping the amounts until you are getting a proper amount of pure water in yourself every day.0

Maybe try seltzer? Or unsweetened iced green or herbal tea?
Really cold water sometimes me feel sick, but cool or room temperature goes down easy.
I really love water! Other drinks coat my tongue and don't really quench my thirst. If I drink soda or juice, I still drink a glass of water afterward.0 -
I was permanently dehydrated for years.
A month could go by without me drinking a glass of water.
Then I started doing it - forcing myself to drink it.
After a few weeks, I couldn't live without it.
My skin, hair, and energy levels are very much better for it.
You'll live longer. Just do it.0 -
I know this sounds a bit blunt, but i was in the same position as you and i just made myself drink it. I felt like i was drowning and always thought it tasted fishy ! haha. But now after 2 months its all i drink. Has to be bottled for me though...the tap water round here is vile.0

I never drink plain water unless I absolutely have to. I drink sugar free tea and coffee. The tea has 0's across the board with 5mg of sodium.0
-
Hate to be blunt but suck it up and drink it. Your not gonna die. If u want results not everything is great.0
-
I don't drink plain water and I get results. In my case, not drinking water doesn't hold me back.0

I thought I was the only one. I can't drink it. Well I can, then a couple minutes later it comes right back up. Anything more than a sip and I puke.
I actually like water though! I just can't drink it I don't think it's mental because I quite like water. Doctor said it's just a quirk and wouldn't follow it any farther. So I drink everything but water. If I do drink water I need to put something in it, whether it's flavour/fruit/veggies. I also water down all juices quite heavily and do fine that way.0 -
I love water but my partner absolutely hates it. Instead she drinks crystal light, or those liquid drops in her water to give it a kick. Green tea is also a way to substitute. All of those are fairly cheap and can be found at a grocer, or Wal-Mart.0

I moved somewhere new and starting having trouble drinking the tap water, I basically stopped drinking any water for about a year
I finally managed to get back into by using a brita filter, and forcing myself to drink a glass of water before I ate any meal, now its just habit, when ever I want to eat something, I have a glass of water first. Not only does it help with the water, but it also helps you realise if you are really hungry or just thirsty0 -
Going from Dr. Pepper to Diet Dr. Pepper to deciding to change my eating habits, I have a really serious issue with non-flavored drinks. I'm used to drinking something with flavor, so water was a really huge hurdle for me.
I gulp the water down during my workout because I'm sweating like a lunatic. But during the day, I just repurposed my last Diet Dr. Pepper 2 liter and make a bottle of Crystal Light. I drink that every day. It's tasty and satisfies my hydration needs.
Raspberry Ice and Peach Mango Green Tea are my faves.0 -
I primarily drink water, but I hate it. I've tried putting lemon in it, but it makes it worse. I don't want to use any kind of chemical additive, like Crystal Light. I might try getting some herbal teas or something.0
