When do you weigh yourself, and how often?

Every morning before shower, after pee! My new scale has been driving me crazy with all fluctuating readings though. I miss my old one, its battery thing got spoilt. uggghh!0

Morning . after I get up (preferably after a bathroom trip), and at night before bed. Log my weight, calories eaten, exercise for the day in a spreadsheet .. keeps me informed.0

I weigh once a week every monday morning after my shower. I like the whole idea of weighing daily and taking averages though, thats seems a lot more accurate0
-
Pretty much every day.
Then I put it into an excel chart and plot trendlines, averages, minimums, etc. :blushing:0 -
Everyday, or sometimes every other day, after a shower in the morning before I have eaten. Weighing myself so much weekly keeps me on track. I'd go crazy if I only weighed myself once a week. I only record weight when I have gone down a full pound, and never record less than a pound.
It works for me, but everyone is different0 -
In the morning, after any bathroom necessities, but before my shower, whilst nekkid.0
-
I weigh every morning but am trying to stop. I'd like to go to once a week or even less. I can't take the daily ups and downs.0
-
I do it a few times a week.. But my actual weigh in is Saturday. In the morning, before I hit the gym for my big cardio day, and after. I like to see the difference and its a bit of a motivator to see how much less I am after a long run.0

I guess if you're the type of person who won't freak out over weight fluctuations, weighing yourself daily is fine. But I just weigh myself once a week (exact same time every week) because it would drive me crazy.
I read a good blog today on this very topic, written by a pretty serious athlete who tracked her weight daily and was amazed by the fluctuations.

Every morning before my shower. My scale does the impedance-based BF and hydration % measurement, and I am mainly interested in that number. While I know it is not necessarily my actual BF%, I do like to keep an eye on any trends (up or down) and watch to see that my hydration is roughly where it needs to be in the mornings.
Since I am at maintenance, I only log if my weight changes and holds consistently for more than a week. Generally, the every-day amount is pretty stable, but I can definitely tell when I have had a lot of sodium or not enough water the day before...0 -
Every morning right after I wake up.0

Every morning and I keep track of it on a graph on a phone app. Daily weighing is one of my maintenance tools (I weighed daily while losing weight too).0
-
I weigh myself daily, just to get a general idea of where I am at. My official weigh in is every 2 weeks at my doctor's office. I wear clothes and shoes. I try to wear the same thing each visit - jeans, t-shirt, sneakers. My weigh in is in about an hour.0

Seems although a lot of people weigh in everyday, didn't realise it was so common. I've always felt tempted to and I guess it makes sense to see your ups and downs. I'm definitely gonna do that and start taking averages, still love that idea!!0

whenever I lose weight
at least i'm being honest0 -

Every single day, first thing in the morning - after I take a wizz. This way, I can see trends and how what I eat affects my weight and BF%. After you wake up is also the most consistent time of the day to weigh yourself.0

I honestly haven't weighed in a long time. I go by how my clothes fit. If they feel tight, I eat a bit less. I don't usually have the too loose problem though. I used to weigh daily, or even a bunch of times a day, and all it did was make me stressed when I gained so much as a half a pound.0

I typically weigh daily, first thing in the morning. My official weigh in day is Wednesday; that's when I record it on MFP and give my +/- to my trainer.
I've noticed that it's been getting to me more and more though (the daily weigh-ins) so I think I may try the averaging thing that another poster mentioned. What a great idea!0 -
Do it every morning before breakfast and is usually the most exciting part of the day for me!!0
-
I'm joining the military, and i have to get weighed monthly when I see my recruiter. I like weighing in on the same scale. I0
-
Every few days. I've broken with the daily morning ritual. Too obsessive.0
-
Every morning, after using the bathroom, before getting in the shower. :happy:0
-
Once a week, Saturdays, same time and using the same scale. I have moved away from everyday weigh-ins. This was too much for me!0
-
Every day, but only Wednesday counts!0
-
Well my diet/exercise plan has started today and will go for 14 weeks where I will lose 7kg of fat! yayyy
It happened to start on Saturday, so I will weigh myself every Saturday morning first thing in the morning. Just once a week is fine.
Notice that fat weighs less than muscle. As in muscle is much denser0 -
I weigh myself everyday. I can handle the worse days I also know that I shouldn't take it to heart during my monthly cycle.0
-
I use to weigh myself every single day but then I stopped because I knew some days I would be facing something very unpleasant. I cannot weigh in weekly because that is way too long without weighing myself. I have tried before and failed completely, lol. So, to make this easier for me, I weigh in 'randomly. Meaning, whenever I want to. Haha. So, overall, I weigh in at least 3 times a week.0
-
I was weighing myself every Monday morning. My scale went caput a little bit ago so it's been awhile since I've weighed myself. Probably for the best.0
-
I finally realized that for myself and to be sure I am staying on track, I need to weigh myself every morning.0
