Hello,

I am looking for more friends for encouragement and support that are in my same boat. People are not joking when they say it's harder to lose weight in your 40's. It's like someone flipped a switch on my metabolism.

Hi! :) I'm 46 and actually found my weight loss slowed down in my late 30s. You're not alone!

I feel your pain. I am 47 and have lost 40 and still would like to lose another 10. It is REALLY hard once you get older. I feel like I have no metabolism. Please feel free to add me.

Oh this is not good, not good at all! I just turned 40 in Sept. and HOPE that the 25 lb. I've re-gained won't be ridiculously hard to lose now that I've reached that horrible metabolism-stopping age, with a total of 38 lb total I want to lose to put me at my most ideal weight!

Ditto with weight loss not being a "speedy" endeavor in your forties. I'm 48 and have lost over 40 lbs. Have about 30 more to go. HOWEVER...I am in the absolute best physical shape of my life. My athletic ability has skyrocketed (disclaimer I am not by any means sporty by nature). I have taken up tennis, golf, biking, Muay Thai and most importantly yoga. Weight lifting being re-added. Go for it!!!

    Hello,

I will be 44 next Saturday, so feel free to add me!

I have found that exercise, as much and as often as you can do, has been very helpful - even more than food choices.

It's great to have encouragement, too, which is why I love MFP!

Yes, it is but Yes you Can!! I am struggling with the last 7. I have done it before. Nut shell it all about the diet and exercise.
