Are we creating a group, or just posting to this thread? How's everyone doing, 2 days into 2014? I'm going strong, so far!

Sounds like a great idea, especially since I was just trying to pep talk my self into ending the madness and getting in control. Today I am starting over and would love to join your group.

Not sure if I should post here or if there's a standalone group elsewhere, but I'd like to know whether there are any opinions on large versus small meals and the effects on binge patterns. I struggle with consistency and tbh I'd rather sit down and eat 3 (or less) meals a day than to plan out food for every 2-3 hours. But I find that when I do have a large breakfast, I tend to want to eat more later in the day than if I had a smaller meal. Is it just me or am I stretching my stomach to start the day and then suffering the consequences by being over-full for the rest of the day? I also prefer to workout first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, which means I'm very hungry by the time I get to that first meal. Any thoughts, tips, or advice is appreciated!

This is my biggest weakness and I have resolved to kick this problem in 2014. Feel free to add me :)
  • There is a good support group here

I have found it helpful - always after new buddies though if anyone wants to add me

I'd love some almost-ex-binge eating friends on here ;) Please add me too!

I find since being on MFP seriously since last Sept I've really managed to get it under control so much more, logging makes me aware of what I'm doing, but emotional times (like xmas with the family = stress) always sets me off again and I can't stop :( Wasn't logging over xmas (no internet) so that didn't help. Middle of 2013 saw me almost going the professional BE help track, I didn't know where to start, but I managed to claw my way out since then on my own (with MFP friends!) and I don't want to go back...

I think MFP logging + MFP friends is the key!

    cheers

Please add me too! I realised over Christmas that I need to get the emotional stuff under control.
  • I would love to be involved in this forum. My diet is my worst enemy. My emotional eating has gotten very out of hand. The more tips and supprt, the better for all! :)
  • I would like to join. I could use some motivation at the moment, this might be the thing for me.

It's really helpful to see so many other people who struggle with this. I'm new to MFP and I'd like to participate in this group. Not sure how a group works, but I'll figure it out.

    Thanks!

I want to be in. I just had a disastrous December and I ate, and ate, and ate some more and then ate again..... I binge eat whenever something contraries me and this has to stop! I am sooo disapointed in how far I have let this go the last month. I have worked hard to bring my weight down and i have packed a load of pounds in my latest binging trip. It really pisses me off to have to work on pounds I have already lost and i am not talking about a little 5 pounds. Weirdly enough I ate even tho I knew what the consequences would be, but eating made me feel good. Anyway let's face this together! Plus I am on vacation until the 22nd, ive got plenty of time to get serious about weight loss again!

Hi, I have binge eating disorder but have not binged for several years now. If anyone is really struggling I highly recommend the book Beyond Chocolate by Sophie and Audrey Boss, it literally changed my life.

If you want to know anything further about it then please don't hesitate to send me a message.

I did the same thing this past fall.

I fell 3 pounds shy of my 1st weight loss milestone. At the time I was feeling so damn good about how I was feeling and looked, that I rewarded myself, several... many.... times over. 3 months later, I am up 21lbs. 21lbs!!!! That's an extra 73,500 calories! What the heck did I eat??

I have never in my life seen such a jump in my weight and it has scared me dearly.

I'm up for the challenge. I love the idea of having support and accountability.
  • Yes!!! I am DONE! I want to eat NORMALLYYYYY, and stop with all the guilt! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Hey guys, sorry I have gone through and invited everyone!
We have a group and some topics up, so yes it's still ongoing :) I apologise, I don't get notifications when someone posts on the thread so I actually lost the thread there for a bit.

I hope I didn't miss anyone and thanks for all the interest, hopefully it's somewhat helpful to you guys.
