Bad Dates!

I had met this guy at a bar and we were going to go for coffee afterwards.
I had my car with me so I offered to drive us.
On our way I got a flat tire. I thought men liked cars and doing these types of things...apparently not this guy!
I changed the tire while he sat in the car the entire time.. he never offered to help or to see if I was ok!!
When I was done I got back in the car, started it and told him to get out. I made him walk home!
I went out on a date with a girl, and she didn't bring me a ready made sandwich or wash the dishes, I thought women liked to do these things. Made her walk home.
I thought that exact thing. I think you're being too hard on the guy...It would have been nice if he had talked to you while you were changing your tire...but if he didn't know how...would you really want him offering help? Nice job though on knowing how to change a tire0 -
Gosh...I spent 20 minutes reading these and it amazes me that there are really people out there like that. I never had any bad dates. I had dates where I just didn't think there was any connection there but, was always polite, paid for everything, opened doors, etc. And like the ex cons? really? isn't there a dating site for those people? Not that every ex con is an habitual offender but. I do remember one date I had in my 20's. The girl was amazingly hot. Awesome personality but, when we had our goodnight kiss, I swear it was like kissing a fish. Her mouth motions....like a fish. The fishy after taste. It was just nasty. And no, we didn't eat seafood or anything. I thought it was maybe just a one time thing so we went on a second date. Great date! She took me back to her apartment and I was thinking YES! 2nd date and I'm scoring!! Started making out and guess what? Yep...fish mouth strikes again! I complained of stomach issues...left and never went out with her again.0

Too funny... I went on a date with a man recently that just, ugh. He was coming at me to kiss me good-night with his mouth all the way open and his tongue hanging out! OMG, horrible!0

I was 19, it was 2 am and we were in a deserted parking lot with barely any light.
The least he could've done was stand outside with me. Maybe offer to hold the flashlight.0 -

Off topic but your profile photo looks like the cover of a Tori amos album "Boys for Pele" LOL0 -

Not as long as I am with her.
Now, exceptions would be that if she really insists on doing it or wants to learn how to do it.
Even if she insists, I will still at least move tires around and help where she asks.
Some people might think I am chauvinistic. I personally just think it is good manners.0 -
One of my bad dates was with a guy who is actually my friend now.
I met him on POF shortly after my divorce. He was a thin guy who is really attracted to larger women, and I knew that and was okay with it. We met and he looked a lot younger than I expected, even though I do like younger men (I was 35, he was 29 but seriously looked more like 21-22). We went to a Mexican buffet restaurant I chose due to it being brand new in town, and I felt self-conscious about eating, because he was barely touching his food at all. And I've never been a bit shy about eating regardless of my size. Anyway, he might have eaten two chunks of meat. I ate an enchilada, beans, and a bunch of honeydew melon.
We sat there for at least an hour chatting and it was super depressing, much more like a therapy session than a date. We were BOTH recently divorced after marriages of 8+ years. He was cheated on, and wanted to go in depth about all of the specifics and his own issues and so forth. We had both been through the same natural disaster recently so we discussed that as well. It was intense, but there was zero attraction on my end.
I knew it might be awkward with this guy so I'd previously made up another event I had to go to that night after the date. After he paid (and it was pretty expensive making me feel bad that he did not really even eat!) we walked out to our cars and he did this side-hug thing and made a really sexy (?) groaning type of noise when he hugged me, it was strange. I drove off and thought OMG that guy was sooo nice and intense and I'm sooo not interested. Right about then I get all these sweet flirty texts from him about how great it was to meet me, could we go bowling that weekend, etc... So I felt guilty as all get out. Turns out he does have anxiety issues with eating in public. But anyway, just really awkward!! I started dating my now-husband just a week later and let this guy know that I'd been "dating around" and then found someone I was serious about.0 -
A few years ago I went on a date with a guy I met on geek2geek ... he was NOT a spitting image of his profile pics to say the least (not sure if he shopped his photos or got in a horrible accident, but it was one of the two), and at the end of the date he pulled the "oh crap I forgot my card ... can you get this?" - totally saw him almost pull his card out. He also then tried to kiss me before I got in my car, but I dodged that bullet pretty quick. I like going halfsies on bills during dates, especially for the first few. I would never assume I'm being paid for, and I would never pull that lie on someone. If you can't pay, we should go on a date that won't cost us money ... like a nice hike or something else outdoors... maybe go to a museum, something, I don't know. He did not get a second date, and I'm not using g2g again. xD

I totally agree. Living in the Mid-South I always do assume the guy's paying (and I've never been wrong on that end) because things tend to go down pretty old-fashioned even with the more modern types of guys I've dated. But I would never mind chipping in for a nice tip or my own half even. I just would NOT be pleased to get stuck with the bill!!
Also agree 100% about going on "free" dates, or very cheap ones, if money is an issue. When I first met my husband he had just paid off his second degree with a lump sum - that week - so he was pretty cash poor. I was 100% fine with that. In fact, our second date involved him helping me move and I bought him breakfast and dinner! A few weeks later he took me out. Not a prob!0 -
I'm feeling pretty lucky that my worst date was with a perfectly nice guy with no personality who had a hard time carrying on a conversation.0

Once, I'd say this was probably about a year and a half ago, I went on a date with a guy I met online. He knew how much I love flowers/gardens/trees/nature and so he planned to take us to the Botanical Gardens. Please keep in mind that this date was at 2 in the afternoon, In Texas... in June. Moving on, he picked me up and honked for me to come outside. Then when I got in the car I noticed that the music playing was obnoxious, so I asked who it was and he hands me the case to a Selena Gomez CD.
Once we are at the gardens he has me take a ridiculous amount of pictures of him striking different poses (crouched with his elbow on his knee lightly touching his chin with his forefinger) and made me retake each photo multiple times. We decided to sit on a bench after walking around for a bit. He sits right next to me, sides touching and puts his arm around me. In my head I'm thinking (Dear Lord, it's a million degrees and 100% humidity, I have spent a total of MAYBE an hour with this guy and he is already getting this close and everything?).
That's when it happened. That vile act that ended it all.
He spotted a single tiny droplet of sweat rolling down my neck... and licked it off.
That one act was so disgusting that it managed to win worst date ever. And I've had some bad dates, one of which was running drugs and another was to sell a gun but neither of those left me feeling as violated as that one public act of tongue on neck action.

Um, can I get his number?0 -
I pick up the girl i was dating and she wanted to see the Christmas lights at the county festival. I had never heard of this event so i pick her up and she keeps talking to me in some kind of weird lil girls voice (i guess trying to be funny) and it was really getting to me!
Me: So how do we get there
Her: ummmm idk i thought you knew how to get there?
Me: WHY would i know how to get there if i have NEVER heard of this event or even been there?
Her: ummmm idk
Me: -__-
Went back to her place used the internet for directions. (slowest computer in the world) by the time we got there we found parking walked like half a mile and as we were approaching the lights they began to shut off one by one and it was over.0 -

Yeah, it should be a rule in Texas to never go on an outdoor date between the hours of 11Am-9Pm during the months of June-Sept. Or at all outside during those days. lol0 -
I threw up in my mouth a couple of times reading this thread. Haha. Thanks for the LOLz!0

<<< CHEAP GUY MAGNET!!!
1. Guy 1 takes me out to expensive Greek place. Does not let me order anything. Orders himself a $40 leg of lamb. Does not offer me any and does not finish his meal. Asks for a box to go as I sit there starving.
2. Guy 2 asks me out to expensive Italian restaurant. We took the bus there. Strike 1. We finished our food and he didn't let me order dessert. Strike 2. Says he has no money and TELLS me to pay the bill. Strike 3.
3. Guy 3 invites me to his house to play Xbox. When I get there, he doesn't let me touch anything. Not allowed to touch the Xbox controller, cannot LOOK at his movie collection, cannot do anything but sit on the couch. He ends up trying to rape me saying that he can see that I'm the kind of girl that likes that kind of thing. WHAT?!0 -

Never too late for a good throat punch. :drinker: If you paid the bill, it's too late for dish duty.0 -

I met this guy a year ago on Hogmanay. I lost my friends who he knew and he helped me find them and get home. The next day he asked my friend for my number so he could ask me on a date (I was that drunk I couldn't remember what the boy looked like) . My friend bigged him up like, he's so great, so nice, muscular, doing a sports degree, tall etc. I thought he must have been a nice guy because he took the time out to help me find my friends and get home safely....so I agreed.
I walked to the shopping centre with my friend who told me to go on the date to meet the guy . I was fairly excited and nervous as although id had relationships I'd never really had that first date. My friend left me with this smug smile on her face , telling me to "have a great time".
The guy was 1hr late. I stood at the place we agreed to meet, with him texting me saying "sorry stayed at the gym longer with the lads be there soon". When he eventually came over I didn't even realise it was him. He was nothing like my friend described. I'm 5ft 7 this guy was 5ft 1... So much for tall. I'm not too picky but I don't like guys shorter than me. He stank of sweat covered up by aftershave and when he started speaking he had a lisp. He was the complete opposite of what my friend described him to be and what I had got my hopes up for.
He immediately tried to hold my hand and we had already agreed to see a film at the cinema and get lunch. The whole way through lunch he came across as arrogant he only spoke about himself, the gym, having lad sesh at the gym, girls he's got with and how he was going to order tshirts for him and his gym buddies saying ***** patrol. (not for a joke or out of fun but to be deadly serious), they thought they were all amazing and could have any girl drop at their feet . I wasn't that overweight at this point but still felt really uncomfortable as he bragged on about his body fat % and how amazing he was at everything athletic. I can understand he's proud of his achievement and that's fantastic but it's just the way he went on and on about it and ignored most questions I asked and turned it into something gym or how great he is. Which for me is tmi for a first date. I then ended up footing the entire bill for the lunch, after me not eating barley anything and him choosing the most expensive thing on the menu (I don't mind paying my half).
In the cinema, seeing a film we both agreed on, which I was trying to watch genuinely. He kept speaking really loudly through the film even though the cinema was packed. Again he went on about what do I think the colour of his gym tshirts should be (the first question he'd asked me the whole date btw). He then decided he couldn't understand the film so he was going to speak loudly the whole way through even when people shushed him he got louder. I was mortified. He kept trying to make the moves on me and constantly kiss me. When by this point I had already decided I wasn't really interested. Till eventually he grabbed me forced his tongue in my mouth. I wasn't happy about this, not to mention he was like a washing machine.
After he wanted to extend the date and go shopping for shirts for him, that makes him look even more ripped by buying 3 or 4 sizes too small. While he modelled them and I had to give my opinion. Honestly, I wanted to leave and tried to, but he knew that we got the same bus as it stops at where I live on route to his stop.
He continued to try and kiss me, hug me, grope me, tell me how great the date was and how I should totally come swimming with him. (Even though I told him I'm a horrible swimmer) and should also go for a gym sesh with his mates.
When we got on the bus he told people he knew that I was his gf. Then after I left he continued to text me constantly the end when I stopped replying.
When I eventually plucked up the courage to reply and to tell him that I didn't want to be in a relationship nor go on a second date nor go to his house that night, which I couldn't have been politer about. He turned round saying like a child, I never wanted those things anyway and tried to make it out to me that he was dumping me not the other way about. Haha
Fair to say I never trusted what my friend says about guys again although she got a great laugh about it and it turns out that her and all her friends knew and were having a great laugh at my expense, because they knew he wouldn't be my type and that if have the date from hell.0 -
Wow, my worst date was not nearly as bad as some of these....
Mine was with a man that was about 7 years older than I am (which I never do, I give 5 yr leeway on either side), never married and had no children, had a masters degree in accounting and seemed nice. First I met him at the restaurant and he looked NOTHING like his picture and probably 200 pounds overweight which is not terrible after all I used to be 150 pounds over weight who am I to judge, this is not a make it or break it moment at all. He walked up to me and he wanted to kiss me (WHAT??? I don't even know him), then he tried to hold my hand with hands that were softer than mine. As we come to the door of the restaurant I wait for him to open my door (which is extremely important to me) and nothing, I finally go in (at this point date is done for me)...he tells me that he will buy my dinner (ya think) and then a child behind us throws his sippy into my dates area and he becomes extremely upset that parents can't keep their kids under control and that kids don't know how to act these days probably complaining for at least 15 min. (apparently he forgot I have two children and I am a school social worker so I am comfortable with kids and flying sippy's)..he drones on for two hours about how other dates he has had talks all the time and I am the first one that has allowed him to talk and asked him about himself (I wanted to scratch my eye balls out) after the longest two hours of my life we leave the restaurant and he does not open the door for me again! He wanted another date...ya...no!
See nothing to terrible, just annoying0 -
Okay, I have time to write out my worst date finally!
So I am 16 and newly single. There is a male friend that I like, and our friends are trying to convince us that we both like eachother. He is painfully shy of course, and we are both young and sheltered. It is difficult with our school schedules to get some time alone together but we finally manage. We are sitting there chatting and he tells me that a mutual friend said he should try to kiss me. I agree that it is a good idea, so he goes for it.
And he puts his gum in my mouth. With his mouth. That is the whole kiss.0 -
