What everyone else said, still drink it in moderation, make it fit your plan which means measure the amount you are drinking. '1-2 glasses' is not a real measurement - don't guestimate. Even when I am at a bar/restaurant, I ask the wait staff/bartender how many ounces are in a glass (usually about 5-6 per glass)0

Don't give it up, but make sure to up your water intake. I try to drink at least a glass or water for every glass of wine. Always helps the next day!

I drink a lot more than you! I binge drink (4+ drinks each time) 2-4x per week. Vodka Press is my drink of choice, and sometimes wine.
The biggest problem with alcohol is that your body basically shuts down your metabolism to try to filter the alcohol out, because your body views it as a poison. This stops the fat burning process! Try to eat something light and healthy before you start drinking (because it will more than likely be stored as fat) and make sure to have some water between each glass.
Good luck!0 -
drink it, i have wine everyday and extra at the weekends just keep it within your calorie goal :)0

you're two pages in, what else do you need to know? or are you looking for something specific?0 -
Then don't give it up! :drinker:
You can still fit it into your daily calorie allowance. I always save room for wine or spirits in my day. I told myself a long time ago that I never wanted to give up the things I love. Moderation is hard, but can be managed.0 -
So i just started my weight loss journey and want to know is there a way i can still have wine? i really only want to have it on Saturday and Sundays ( that's the only time i drink alcohol) i know this is horrible, i like to have 4-5 glasses:embarassed: . i don't really snack when im drinking ( thank god)
Of course you can still have wine.
I found that it isn't the snacking *while* drinking that was the problem though, it is the next day when I crave ALL the carbs and greasy foods and am less likely to want to work out (although I did attempt it on boxing day - sooo wasn't happening).
So now I have my one bottle of wine (my favourite is a locally made sparkling) and then a low calorie sugarfree soft drink that *looks* like champagne when it is in the glass. it has about 15cals in 1.5ltrs.
When I have finished my bottle of bubbles I switch to the bottle of soda.
I feel better the next day and no one notices I have stopped drinking alcohol. :drinker:0 -
I love red wine...but I have stopped drinking it regularly and save it for special occasions. I have no problem polishing off a bottle, but I've found that red wine hangovers damn near kill me. I don't count the calories when I buy a bottle, but I also don't munch out when I drink it either. It's a special "treat" for me, and one that I will gladly indulge in.0

I still drink red wine but have skimmed it down to only a glass two nights a week. When I really get into rhythm with logging my foods and drinks I discover I don't want that glass of wine as much for the amount of calories it is when I worked so hard that morning at the gym! I had alot of trouble cutting back on it at first but when the weight started coming off it got alot easier! Now I have hit a point where if I do indulge in a second glass I am just about drunk!! Start slow, cut back to three glasses and see how you feel, or use a smaller wine glass at first so you don't feel like you are drinking any less when you actually are Good luck!0

ill never give up my wine i just drink it moderately0

I have not given up wine.... I tend to favor white wine over red, but won't turn down a glass of red! I know what I am about to say may make some of you cringe but this has worked for me .... I will pour a serving of wine in a tall glass and mix it with diet Sierra Mist.... usually 1 part wine to 3 parts Sierra Mist....I like the taste, plus a 20 oz glass of this concoction last longer and has a ton less calories than 4 glasses of straight wine. Might sound a bit wimpy to some, but I get a nice little buzz from this without getting drunk and without experiencing a dreaded hangover....0

haha noone said it was okay for me to drink that much i dont think.......0 -
I had 1 glass a night, and about a bottle on Fri-Sat throughout the time that I lost weight. I've quit drinking on weekdays, but still go through 1.5-2.5 bottles on weekends... ~560 cals in a bottle of cab. Will run for wine! You just have to fit it in like any other treat. Red wine is good for you.
ETA: The little individual bottles that some bars use are 6.4oz. I have designs on my wine glasses at home and I measured so that I know what an 8oz glass looks like in the design. That way I can measure my drinks without anyone noticing.0 -
Why is it horrible? Have your wine if you can spare the calories. In moderation..its good for you!0
