don't eat after whatever o'clock.
like i'll turn into a fat gremlin
I was told 6pm was the cutoff time. Like anything after that magically turns into fat.
I've heard this too. Magical times like 6, 7, 8 pm. So funny. I had a boss years ago who was female, 50-something, and about 95 lb soaking wet and she SWORE that she used to be "really chubby" and then stopped eating every day at 3 pm and was skinny ever after. Also, she ate mostly cheeseburgers and Hostess cupcakes/Twinkies (we worked for Wonder Bread).

Someone told me the other day not to lift anything more than 10 pounds or I'm going to get big. Umm....ok LOL.0

I was seriously told this a few days ago: You should juice and try to only eat soups (not too chunky though).... Because your body doesn't have to process whole foods it will work to lose more fat. (Forget that you basically told me to eat like maybe 600 calories a day.)0

gotta eat breakfast to restart that metabolism0

That water has magical, weight-loss properties and all kinds of amazing health benefits.

Eat lots of salads to lose weight.
Your blood type matters when you want to lose weight. What?
Only eat clean and only eat real food.
Protein makes you fat.

"A detoxing cleanse is a great way to kickstart your weight loss"
Basically if anyone uses the words "detox", "cleanse", or "kickstart" I stop listening. And if anyone uses the word "sabotage" I just start singing Beastie Boys in my head.
This is so annoying. It's like people don't consider that drinking 600 calories a day is what's causing the weight loss...not a "detox." STFU
Biggest BS? "Calories are a myth and some people can eat below BMR and not lose weight!" Unless something is wrong, no.0 -
Doing ab crunches/situps everyday will get you abs
Yeah, it will but they won't show unless you lower your overall body fat.0 -
people that tell me the diet i'm on (ketogenic) won't work and will make me fat. Umm hello, we work together, i'm 100lbs lighter than i was when we started. I'll be sure to let you know how big i get...
Yeah and that I'll only lose water weight this way, that I won't lose any real fat.
Yep, I've lost 58 lbs of water weight~0 -
Anything about detox.
Anything Dr. Oz recommends.

McDonalds is poison.

You shouldn't eat breakfast.
You should eat breakfast.

You can't eat ice cream. Or poptarts. And certainly not ice cream WITH poptarts!
You shouldn't lift anything more than 10lbs.
You should run on the treadmill.
You have to do cardio to lose body fat.
Walking doesn't count as exercise.
The only way to get rid of your belly after having a baby is to use these wraps.
You only need to eat 1200 calories.
White bread and rice are bad.
Peanut butter is bad, unless it's organic.
Sit ups/ Push ups/ etc. are pointless.
You can't eat macaroni and cheese if you want to lose weight.
You should juice.
You should take these pills.0 -
From a personal trainer (we share a mutual friend, I don't actually see her, thank goodness):
Shakeology and Beach Body are the only things that will work! I tried (insert every other possible method of weight loss here) and I just kept gaining until I did this!
From my sister:
Paleo and juicing. Those are the only healthy things in the world. (Less than a month later, she texted me about ordering pizza because her husband was at work and wouldn't know.)0 -
Oh, I forgot!
Cardio will make you fat, there's no point in doing it at all.0 -
Not so much a BS tip but something I overheard between two people in a waiting room a couple of days ago:
"Some people are just big, if you aren't losing weight on <insert fad diet/program> then it could just be you're meant to be overweight"
I should add the person saying it wasn't exactly slim.0 -

not really fitness tip, but I hear if you eat raw cookie dough, you'll get really sick..
because eating raw cookie dough is the only way you can die young.0 -
To completely cut out carbs and consume only protein, this one's is a HUGE peeve of mine.
CARBS ARE YOUR PRIMARY SOURCE OF ENERGY, and without them your body will suffer!
Protein's function, while containing smaller amounts of energy, is primarily tissue repair and construction. For Pete's sake, stop telling people to not eat any carbs! It's bad for you!

You should do xxxx (when really meaning I did it and it worked for me (or I haven't done it yet but someone told me it will work for me) therefore it has got to work for you because I understand you better than you do)0 -
