ETA: Not really, it's just easier to glom onto a post by someone who pretty obviously knows what they're talking about than it is to come up with a well-informed, truthful opinion of my own. *nods* true story0 -

My mom told me that I could weight train my upper body, but that I would get "thunder thighs" if I did lower body weights. I had a someone else say that that was not true, but using the stair master was enough for lower body. FML. I actually believed this until a couple of years ago.
Eat 100% clean or you won't lose tummy fat
Do crunches to get rid of tummy fat (spot reduce)
Use this cream/pill/powder/supplement/whatever to lose weight without watching what you eat
The lower the fat the better
Use lighter weights and more reps
You need cardio to lose weight
Don't lift heavy or you will get bulky
Don't eat x or you will get fat
You can't drink alcohol or your metabolism will go on vacation and you can't lose weight
Walking doesn't count as exercise
Eat "superfoods" or die/get cancer/have limbs fall off/go blind
Eat every 2 hours

Start your day with cold water or your metabolism won't start

Technically, if the tea has caffeine then it will work as a diuretic. If it's caffeine-free tea then it will act the same as water.0

According to a friend's personal trainer, "Women can't do real pull-ups"
So... those pull-ups I've been working damn hard on being able to do.... they're just an illusion, k?

My dad told me I have been "killing myself and doing serious damage" because I run 5-6 miles a day for 5 days each week....
But I think he's just jealous cuz he can only run about 2 XD
Oh and did I mention when I was growing up he "educated" me that anything with ridiculously high calories is healthy and nutritious? He absolutely thought calories and fat were essential for a growing teenager so I was required to eat 2 eggs a day (my highest record was 8, yeah baby) and a large sized McDonald combo with regular soda and extra chicken nuggets every two weeks or so. For example pizzas, Big Macs, fries, etc... Every time I told him I had such and such for lunch at school he'd ask me "how many calories of nutrition was that?"
And "being fit is 100% genetic. You are being stupid for trying to control your weight cuz you never need to."
