The ads are based off your recent internet search history.

    This.

I have gotten perfume and clothing company ads. I try not to eat those items, or if I do, only in moderation.

    MFP is "free".

    Nothing in life is free.

Keep the ads churning so that MFP can make an income. The bellies and butts in the world benefit.

Ad solution. Use firefox where you can download adblock, voila! no ads.

The ads you see in most civilized sites are based on your internet usage. We all see different things - complaining about *your* ads only tells the world what you have been looking at  Have you looked up a recipe lately?

My personal favorite is when people get indignant about porn ads. :smokin:

This...i found it hilarious when some lady was complaining about borderline porn adds. Hmmmm and what have you been doing. LOL I constantly have an ad for Figi's chocolate mint roll because I researched their aight for calorie information. It won't go away. Tease!

Shoot, I wish mine were Pillsbury. Right now it's Chase Bank (I've never had anything to do with them) and the envelope with "view private message" in blue. That one is annoying.

AdBlock FTW! I haven't seen online ads for a couple years. But a Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls sounds ah-mazing right now.

I do not see ANY ads. I have Ad Blocker Plus. This is a free program, downloadable and takes up little space on your computer.

Use Google, put in the name of your browser and ad blocker I never see any ads anywhere, and I am always shocked when I am visiting someone and see ads on their computer.

    Put in like this:
    Firefox ad blocker
    Chrome ad blocker

You will be glad you did!!

That means that you are waaaay too grown up & serious. I think you need to look up food porn and cat gifs.

I've been getting mail from AAA, AARP and hearing aide companies since i was 14! I have no idea what I signed up for back then, but it must have been something weird.

    And now I'm ordering this.

Wait. 20 bucks to ship to Hawaii? That's more than the giant Reese cups cost! Foiled by location once again.

If ads are based off of recent searches, why am I not getting ads for butt plugs and donkey shows?

    Edited for spelling.

You should be getting ads for clothing and perfume.

Much prefer the Pillsbury ads to the "X foods you should never eat" (which I mute EVERY TIME) and "the video your dr does not want you to see". Figured out how to ban Dr Oz from my facebook feed (that was a " O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" day for sure). Most the ads you can mute. And, damn, them pinwheels look good (though so does the goat cheese and beet salad being constructed in the kitchen as I type...)
