It's 6:00 am and I am headed to the gym...I would much rather be in my warm comfy bed, but anyways lol....I was wondering has anyone ever done the 30 day shred dvd from Jillian Micheals? I'm thinking about getting that for the month of December. I heard it's short 20 min workouts
Hey! I have done the 30 day shred workouts. I completed all 30 days in October! I lost a few inches doing it too! They are a good workout, 22 minutes including the warm-up and cool down. Just a thought though, they are more for strength training & toning. NOT weightloos, unless you use her specific nutrition guide throughout Let me know what you decide.0 -

ooo 6am ouch, thats too early! Ive done the 30 day shred over the summer. I seemed to lose weight doing it (but I was doing lots of cardio separately) and definitely helped tone up. I'm thinking of doing it again when I go home for Christmas (Don't have the room in my uni room) as we get a month break so perfect amount of time to get it all done I think I would recommend it, though I found Jillian a little irritating after a while, but I could definitely see the results!
Wow that does sound a busy time, but might be good, keep mind off food a bit (well that's what I find when I'm busy anyway).

Haven't lost any weight so far this week, even though I've been VERY mindful of my eating and I have been doing new workouts that i figured would "shock" my body into weight loss-cycling, turbo kick....nadda.
Tomarrow my family is coming over for my birthday dinner. already have planned what I will eat and told my mother not to make me my usual chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I plan to go to the gym in the AM to sweat it out before hand, and drink lots of crystal light.

Thanks so much for the 30 day shred advice. Yeah at my stage I just need to lose weight, toning is kind irrelevant right now. Maybe I will do the 30 day shred when I am much closer to my goal weight. Everyone have a good weekend. Eat well, exercise often, c everyone monday for weigh in!0

Hi ladies,
weight-in tomorrow...I'm kind of afraid to step on the scale...I don't think i lost any weight even-though I ate well, drank A LOT of water, and did my exercise every day,...but I think I lost some inches... wore my jeans today and they look huge on me...(they were tight a month or so ago).
question...is this Thanksgiving goal challenge or we have until the end of November? hehe I'm buying some time

We have until the end of November, I'm British and don't celebrate thanksgiving lol. Its always a nice feeling when your clothes get looser, prob means you've built some muscle in place of fat

Boo boo boo. Bad week. It's so easy to fall off the wagon and stay off and enjoy it until 4 days later you start paying for it by feeling tighter in the trousers. But it's a road with ups and downs, and I've definitely learned from my latest down. This week is a new week and there is still time to make up for it before the end of November!
Congrats to everyone this week. Whether you have lost, stayed the same or gained, the most important thing is to keep coming back to this website, facing the guilt or pleasure of the numbers and keep going!0 -
I was kind of afraid of today's weigh in. I was down a bit over last week but then went home for the weekend to visit my parents and little sister. My mom is what I would call a FEEDER! She's constantly making goodies, snacks, offering drinks and is an amazing cook. And we were celebrating my birthday so she'd say, "You can have it today, it's your bithday party!" So needless to say, I gave into a lot of goodies and delicious foods...and even had seconds of cheesy potatoes!!! Yum! However I did drink WATER all weekend and kept chugging it when I got home last night, and this morning the scale blurted out:
182.8
I could hardly believe it! A loss once again. Thank you body & scale for working with me lately.

I lost 1 lb this week. Now 225. My daughters 2nd bday party was yesterday, I totally ate bad all day. I did good last week, but I think yesterday and part of Saturday ruined it. Oh well, I am committed to having a better week this week.0

sorry about the late check in but I am down two more pounds! That brings me to 136 right now. Even after totally eating an extra taco during my dinner with my family the other day, AND eating a small sliver of carrot cake. I am very excited. Hope you all have a great, successful week!0

Yay! Finally I feel like I'm back on track! After a week of indulgence in Paris I've hit back hard by staying under calorie goal and exercising every day. I received the Zumba DVD set and am loving it! Have also picked up the kettlebells again. Oh, and the thing I am MOST excited about: I am trying to trick my mind by telling myself I don't like chocolate. Whenever I walk past the chocolate basket in the office or have a craving I just think "I don't like chocolate" and hopla, the craving disappears. MAGIC! Ok, it's only been 3 days but it's a start and am definitely going to try keeping this up.

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday...I love simply celebrating family, friends and the life that I have...and it's pretty much the last day that isn't miserably cold in Minnesota. I have SO much to be thankful for :happy: !!!
I am at the same weight today as Monday, which is slightly disappointing, but I should just be glad it hasn't gone up! I have been SO hungry lately and wanting to eat everything in sight. I ate 2 apples yesterday just so that I wouldn't rip into a box of crackers & devour the entire thing! Sheesh. I will hopefully get this ridiculous hunger under control and kick my own butt over the weekend to have a nice new *low* number on Monday!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far! Also, would anyone be interested in sticking together for a December Challenge once this month is over? Otherwise, I might start/join a group that is going to do that when the new month rolls around...just a thought0 -

Goodmorning!!!!
I am in a very very happy mood today because this morning I thought "what the heck let's get out the scale" after having locked it up for two weeks and guess what - I broke my plateau!!!! I had been stuck between 2 numbers forever and today I finally went under. I'm back in the game, baby.
On top of that we get to wear jeans at work today and I treated myself to Starbucks. Today is a good day.0 -

My original goal was 25th but I moved it to 30th...I got scared last week, wasn't losing any weight,... instead, I was going up and down for about 7 days,...I think I'm ok now...but I'm not sure if I will reach my goal. MFP recommends that I lose 0.9lbs a week so...idk, will see.

My Thanksgiving was terrific! I had a bit of everything I wanted and still managed to stay under 1400 calories for the day. I have been at my in-laws since Wednesday night & will get home tomorrow! I hope that the scale is good to me because although I've been eating very well, I haven't worked out at all besides walking! Yikes. I hope that you're all having a wonderful weekend0 -

Erg sorry ladies, ive been a little out of it for the past week. Haven't been logging or weighing. And I KNOW I've put on some :frown: so I don't think I've made my target for this month. I suck! How has everyone else done?
Anyone else find it really hard to get out and exercise when its really cold? Is like -3 here and I can't quite bring myself to go for a run lol.0 -
Don't give up Lu!! It happens to everyone! Just try to learn from it and use it to get back on track. The week I was in Paris I took a step back into my old lifestyle and enjoyed it... until I realised my trousers were a lot tighter, my belly was sticking out again and I felt really gross. Now whenever I have a 'bad' meal I try to think back of that week and try to make sure I limit the damage by keeping it to that one bad meal and not turning it into a bad week. As to the exercise, it's all gym and home DVD's for me now, no way I'm braving the cold :-)
Katoka - am definitely in for the December challenge. Have already accepted that there's going to be a few cheat days but I like this little thread as it keeps me on track.0
