My progress in 2 weeks (pics)

Hi All!

I joined this brilliant community about 2 weeks ago, since getting on the scales and realizing I was heavier than I've ever been! Since that day I resolved to lose weight by sticking to a Kcal of 1720 (my maintenance is a whopping 2600!) and exercising daily via 30 day ab challenge and attempting as much of Insanity as I could handle.

Here are my results after 14 days!

Please let me know what you think and any advice to further speed up my loss would be appreciated!

    This is awesome!

I don't think you need or want to speed up your weight loss. Just continue at the pace you're going now. 10 pounds in 2 weeks is quite commendable and is a bit more than the average weight loss rate. Just keep going.

Don't forget your posture in pictures, roll the shoulders back, head up, flex abs.

Great work. Though I would suggest changing your weekly weight loss goal, with the amount you have to lose you should not be looking to lose more the 1 lb/week, otherwise you will risk losing LBM along with your fat.

Thanks all for your kind words, it's this forum and MFP in general that has made this so easy for me.

I do get the concern that I'm losing too fast but I'm keeping up with resistance training to make sure my muscle doesn't suffer :)!

My target currently is 220lbs, but my perfect weight would be around 185 I think.

    Regards,
    Matt

Amazing results! Good on you for starting and sticking to it! I wouldn't focus on speeding up the process though. In fact, I'd slow it down a bit to be sure you are getting sustainable results that are not feeding on your lean muscle.

    Keep it up killer!

Wow, that is impressive! Big difference-- good for you! I guess keep doing what you're doing-- modified for your new weight. Calorie goals and other such things change as we shrink. :)

Oh dear. Faster is definitely NOT better. You are in too high of a calorie deficit, and it will definitely result in you losing a lot of lean body mass despite the exercise. You would be much better off setting your MFP goal to lose 1 lb per week, and eat back about 50% of your exercise calories.

definite difference; you don't really want to speed up this process at this point; just keep doing what you are doing... it is working. It did not come on overnight; it won't go away overnight. Slow and steady for a lasting weight loss. Great job so far.
