pretty simple, just looking for some new ideas. i use the quaker 1 minute oats and add 2 tbsp of pb2 chocolate, 1 tbsp cinnamon, and a couple packs of that aspartame just because it can kill me, lol...... livin life on the edge, lol
I added some slivered almonds to mine this morning. It was pretty good . I allow my oats to soak in fat free milk over night with the almonds.0 -
I like to make a 1000+ calorie bowl of sludge. Usually it's 1 serving of oatmeal, 1 scoop of Syntha 6 chocolate peanut butter, 1 cup Fage plain yogurt(whole fat if I can find it), 4 tablespoons peanut butter, 2 servings dark chocolate chips.0
-
Brown sugar, one full scoop ON Hydro-Whey chocolate protein powder0
-
walnuts, raisins and cinnamon0

Usually raisins and either pecans (preferred) or walnuts. Sometimes I also add vanilla whey protein.0

I make a savoury oatmeal based on chinese congee:
So I cook the oatmeal with slices of ginger, add a little bit of pancetta and then add soy sauce to taste.0 -
I buy the traditional oats and try to keep it pretty simple. I freeze sliced bananas and use about 1 bananas worth thawed (so it is mushy) and mix it in my oats. It's like adding sugar but healthier I then throw on a square of dark chocolate so it will melt and I can mix that in and some cinnamon. Sometimes I will throw other fruits on top if I have them available but this pretty much does the trick for me every time!0

Great Ideas. I have been making it with milk and sweetener. Was getting bored the other day so added some raisins but I didn't like the texture. Some great ideas on here though I will have to try !0

Old skool: cinnamon and raisins. Also, I cook it in the milk instead of cooking it in water and adding milk later.0

chocolate (either nutella, cocoa or a few chocolate chips) and coconut. peanut butter/banana. Peanut butter/chocolate. apple/cinnamon. raspberry/dried cranberry. I don't think there's anything I haven't tried. fresh Fruit/dried fruit/ nuts/ spreads/ sugars.... it's all gone into my oatmeal at one point or the other. Experiment.0

Honey, chopped walnuts & cinnamon (or pie spice) = tastes like baklava
Banana & brown sugar & sometimes vanilla extract
Blueberries/any berries & chopped almonds
Craisins
Some pudding!
Pumpkin or apple butter is yummy, too!
Not so fond of PB, eggs or yogurt in my oats, but someday I may just have to try them :-)0 -

I've resolved with myself to just avoid oatmeal altogether. It tastes incredibly bland to me and to counteract that I get too carried away with toppings, turning my healthy bowl of oatmeal into a bowl of sugar, essentially.
I've tried all these healthy tricks with fruit and such but it just doesn't take the blandness away for me. Rather than risk myself dumping brown sugar and butter in it, I just back away slowly! Don't want to put myself in a bad situation if I can help it!0 -
I cook the one-minute version with raisins and add apple butter when it's done.
Never thought I'd like oatmeal so much, but I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!0 -

I like old fashioned oats, they don't take much longer to cook and I like the texture better. But occasionally I'll use quick oats, and I add the same stuff either way.
Usually I add two tablespoons craisins, a sprinkling of cinnamon, and a stevia packet or two. Sometimes I'll replace the craisins with sliced banana, or chopped apple. If I use apple I put it in while I'm cooking the oatmeal so that it cooks too.
On occasion I'll add EAS Lean 15 protein powder (vanilla flavor), but that isn't really so much for the taste as for the protein, I like the taste of the oatmeal better without it.0
