Great alternative for Ice cream lovers!

Wow. A lot of you are harsh! The poster obviously wanted to share something good she discovered to be nice. If you'd rather eat ice cream then fine. Why must you blast someone for liking an alternative?
Because the alternative is not really any better than the real thing. It's not healthier to eat whipped cream. *shrug*
Right! I think this is the main point. People need to realize that food should be judged in *context* to the entire diet. Struggling to fit a food item into your diet is a creativity issue, and for some, it makes sense to eat something lower in calories that still provides satisfaction. It is not correct though, to just label any particular food as good or bad. Sometimes when people say that, it's related to their own poor relationship with food. Other times, it is simply a lack of knowledge. No one is trying to be harsh, from what I have seen, just pointing out the facts.0 -
that sounds amazing! thank you!!0

is there any reason you have to post your disagreement online? if the OP likes what she made, she can. you don't have to waste time out of your own day by tossing negativity around. shockingly, you might feel better about yourself if you go about complimenting people instead of downing them.
OP said ice cream is unhealthy and offered Cool Whip as an alternative. It's not throwing around negativity to state that ice cream is not unhealthy. I feel pretty darn good about myself, by the way.0 -
I got blue bunny fat free icecream thats 90 cals a serving...I have to have the "real" stuff, there isnt a substitute for me...but im glad you found one0

oooops meant to quote Wendyterry, thankyou I think a digestive might be a good alternative, our crackers are more savoury for cheese etc
Well there you go. (I had to Google it) But yep, sounds perfect.
And FTR, I Cool Whip! It isn't as good as real cream, but it has its uses (and can be considered a "convenience" food), and to me is quite yummy!0 -
I'm pretty sure if I eat my kids, someone's gonna contact Child Protective Services on me.
but they're soooooo good when frozen. Crunchy!0 -
I am currently onto blood orange sorbet, half the calories all the flavor0

As someone who just kind of likes ice cream but loves whipped cream, thank you!0

You go girl!0

The OP's statement that ice cream is unhealthy is what got this started. People are just correcting that statement because it's untrue.0 -
The average ice cream sandwich has less than 200 calories.
Exactly, most normal ones seem to be 150 calories.0 -
Frozen bananas and peanut(or other nut) butter in a blender with maybe a little almond milk to loosen the texture. Very creamy Very delicious. http://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/two-ingredient-banana-peanut-butter-ice-cream/0

Cool Whip is still pretty damn high in calories for a very non-satisfying bite. I could eat an entire container of cool whip and not be full. I prefer skinny cow if you ever want to try them OP. Or even the "blend a frozen banana with some pb".
Either way, if it works for you and you enjoy it, CARRY ON and do your thang!0 -

I've done that too and it is very good also I use almond milk, cocoa, vanilla a third of banana and about 15 ice cubes. Put it in my Ninja and blend until creamy. kind of reminds me of a Wendys frosty. Yummy0

This!!! People have got to calm down!! OP, it sounds tasty-thank you for sharingWow. A lot of you are harsh! The poster obviously wanted to share something good she discovered to be nice. If you'd rather eat ice cream then fine. Why must you blast someone for liking an alternative? Unless you have something nice or helpful, why post a response? Just carry on and let her be. Sheesh! Go ahead, bash me if you must to make yourself feel better. By the way, I love using a frozen banana blended in my food processor with peanut butter. That is my ice cream alternative. :-)0

Calm down from what? No one is getting worked up or exclaiming anything except the poster you are quoting. We are just trying to explain, that while one alternative may work, that ice cream is not unhealthy.0 -

Hmmmmm, that's something to think about. Maybe with chocolate syrup and Cool Whip, and some chocolate graham crackers crushed over them. You might be on to something!0 -

Well, at least she isn't suggesting Artic Zero.

Ice cream is perfectly healthy. Healthier than graham crackers and Cool Whip by pretty much any metric.0

I love ice cream and eat it just about every day haha but the graham cracker and.cool whip sounds delicious, I may have to make some! thanks for the quick and easy recipe!0

Why do we need an alternative for ice cream?
^this.^ Unless you are lactose intolerant, just eat the ice cream and make room for it in your calorie deficit. It's better than Cool Whip.
Yup. Cool Whip is no substitute for Ben & Jerry.0 -
If it's under 200 calories, why not just have ice cream? I have three kinds of regular (not light) ice cream in my freezer and they all range from 140-180 calories per serving.
(also... and this is just personal preference - I think Cool Whip is pretty vile  )0 -
