Protein Shakes for Girls?

Hey everyone.

Any idea's on what protein shake to go for?

I am also wondering if anyone has tried Raspberry K2 Weight Loss Supplements? I started these on Monday. You should take 2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. I have started out on 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon to let my body adjust a bit. So far I don't feel any different. Any success stories on them? Are they rubbish? As much information any of you know would be greatly appreciated.

Any recipes for smoothies also? How often do you drink them as they do have a lot of sugar in them?

Any answers will be greatly appreciated x

Protein you buy is the same for guys and girls.. look for a low calorie high protein one (so 100-130 a scoop for 25g protein).. And Most weight loss supplements are an absolute waste of time.. its all about deficit from what your body needs.

One scoop Optimum Nutrition whey and a cup of So Delicious 5x Protein almond milk. Drinking one right now, actually.

For girls? My husband and I use the same protein powder... I, however make it a tastebud affair, with non-fat greek yogurt (vanilla or coconut), skim milk and a squirt of hershey's chocolate syrup, cause I'm a rebel like that. Hubs, however, just uses a little crushed up ice and some water.

    Whatever floats your boat, really.

    My favorite smoothie:
    1 ½-2 cups fresh spinach
    ½ banana
    ½ c frozen peaches
    ½ c frozen grapes
    water
ice (unless you freeze fruits beforehand, which I do).

Jamie Eason has a new line designed specifically for women (can't figure out what the difference is) through Labrada.com called Lean Body for Her. It looks pretty expensive, but comes in a pretty pink package.

Looks like it's a blend of soy and whey, with some added calcium. You could get essentially the same thing mixing regular whey protein with soy milk, and then taking a calcium supplement.

Diet pills are a complete joke. They will do NOTHING. Protein is protein....it doesn't matter if you are a guy or a girl.

*I would just like to say, I was expecting something TOTALLY different in this thread.

It's so they can charge more, kind of like putting "gluten free" on a box on already gluten free foods

I use Impact Whey Protein - today, my post work out smoothie consisted of:

    25g whey protein
    Half an avocado (60g)
    A banana (82g)
    Natural yoghurt (60g)
A couple of drops of vanilla essence
Water to desired thickness, and a bit of ice

Delicious! And yeh, protein is for everyone - look at the nutrition info of the powder, not the shiny packaging.

Protein choice doesn't matter since physiologically both genders digest them the same (with exception to any health issues).

And as mentioned, weight loss supplements are a waste of time. Just stick to a consistent calorie deficit.

Oh, sweetheart. You're new around here, aren't you?

As others have commented, there's no special kind of protein shakes "for guys" and "for girls". Just use the one that you like, if you want to use one. And there are as many personal preferences out there as there are people. We're all special snowflakes.

I personally am a fan of Isopure 0 carb Alpine Punch protein. It's not a shake, but it's got 15 grams of protein for 60 calories. Nothing but whey protein, baby!
  • A good breakfast smoothie for me is 2 good handfuls of fresh spinach, 1 cup of frozen berries and 1 banana blended together with some water to dilute it slightly. Looks pretty gross but tastes great!

    Hey everyone.

Any idea's on what protein shake to go for? any one of the many out there that offer the protein you desire and taste good enough for you to drink

I am also wondering if anyone has tried Raspberry K2 Weight Loss Supplements? I started these on Monday. You should take 2 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. As much information any of you know would be greatly appreciated. without looking this up, i bet its raspberry ketones...do a forum search on this term. youre wasting your money

Any recipes for smoothies also? How often do you drink them as they do have a lot of sugar in them? unless youve been medically advised to do so, you dont need to worry quite so much about sugar. smoothies can be incredibly simple. i used to make one that was bananas, vanilla yogurt, frozen strawberries, OJ, and kale. really good!

Any answers will be greatly appreciated x

I just bought "Lean 1" by Nutrition 53. It seems to get pretty good reviews--it has some Hoodia and green coffee bean extract added in, along with fish oil and CLA.

Raspberry Ketones DO help, if you're working out regularly. They enhance your results. I'd just steer clear of anythign that isn't pure ketones--keep the caffeine and all the other garbage out of it. I've never tried that particular brand you mentioned, but I've tried ketones and they truly did help speed up the fat loss. I'm starting them again today myself.

    FROM YOUR PROFILE
I've tried pills, patches, shakes and injections. Everything worked for a bit, then bounced right back. For nearly 20 years I've been trying fad diets and supplements
