Didn't read past the words cookies. You're giving away some, right?0 -
I'm gonna go with someone else who said; "Best. story. ever!" I really enjoyed reading your post. You're a helluva gal and you look awesome! Now I don't feel so bad about the choc. chip cookies I ate today. :happy:0

I agree, but for me I have to avoid the sweet stuff as much as possible, because once I start I can't stop until the whole packet is gone!!
I'm always a little...meh about this line of reasoning. I've been a 13x9,pan of brownie eater or a whole pack of oreos eater so I can relate to that feeling of being unable to stop once you start, I really can.
But its through calorie counting and learning to make things fit that I am able to curb behavior. I'm able to only eat a few cookies instead of an entire sleeve because I never tried to make myself quit but rather made myself tone it down.
I log before I eat. I look at the numbers in black and white then ask myself "is this where I want to be today. Would another brownie (or five) actually improve my day. Will it make me happy, really?
I don't believe there is any benefit to cutting things out because it doesn't teach you anything. The problem with food still persists, you're just ignoring it.0 -

GOLDEN advice!!!!! How old are you?????!!!! (Actually, you young ones are getting it long before this chic did).:flowerforyou: :drinker:0 -
In for those amazing cookies! And cause you look awesome!
I avoid sweets (especially my own baked goods) during the day because once i start, well you know...
I hope to one day be at a place that I can have sweet treats in moderation without ruining the rest of my day. For now, I'll just keep logging and eating what is working for me...and saving enough calories for dessert every night, even if it's just a cup of hot chocolate made with water:bigsmile:0 -
LOVE THIS. You rock!! You are gorgeous and badass!!0

Great story thank you0

Moderation FTMFW. I love your posts, you're rockin' it girl.0

THANK YOU!! You made my day with your awesome post!
Your positive attitude and success are inspiring. This enables women like me not to feel guilty when enjoying cookies (or pizza n beer in my case). :drinker:
Saw this recipe today- covers 3 of the food groups- chocolate, bacon, and whiskey :flowerforyou:

I'd like to remember your post when I get down on myself about eating too much on occasion. I don't need to "finish" my weight loss that fast. It's good to take time to enjoy myself now instead of waiting until I've gotten to goal and then going totally nuts.0

Having an unhealthy relationship with food is the problem. Doing the bare minimum to lose half a pound a week or less takes almost no work but cutting out a little bit of calories. Moderation is key but if you are addicted to sugar thats not a good thing.
Hey that 1200 calorie cheese cake from the cheesecake factory taste better than skinny feels and so does that venti caramel latte that is 800 calories from starbucks I could get daily. She doesn't mention eating 1 or 2 cookies a day, its a huge plate of cookies. I dont see how this topic can be encouraging. EVERYTHING taste better than skinny feels, I would like to drink a gallon of chocolate milk..Its kinda like a "no ****" thing.
How about a topic regarding how no food is worth the deterioration of ur health
If you think I fit a whole plate of cookies into a 1700-1900 a day calorie goal...well you must eat crappy cookies. Whomp whomp.
If you want to discuss something else I suggest you go start a thread about it. This one is about cookies.0 -
Im now super grouchy, you my dear ROCK... but Im killing myself over here with between 12 and 1400 a day and I am losing but my attitude is suffering terribly. Have you always been like this, or did it take time to "find". I want to be like you0

I started MFP eating around 1000 calories a day and spending an hour a day on cardio machines. I lost about five pounds then crashei and burned. Started again at 1400, made some great friends here who taught me a thing or two, picked up lifting and moved up to 1600. The rest is history.
Make no mistake I lost faster on less calories but I wasn't happy (and the body I was building was not the one I wanted.) And I rank my own happiness above anything else. There is no reason to be unhappy for the sake of a few pounds faster, none.0 -

Im sorry those cookies dont look all that great. No cookie is worth someones health. Who even wants one or two cookies anyways. Then you have dozens of cookies sitting in ur kitchen while you are trying to lose weight? Yes makes perfect sense.
... You seem to be confused. I've never had a cookie that I thought was detrimental to my health. The fact that you think consuming one or two (or more) of these delicious treats while being mindful of calorie and macro content and how it reflects on your overall diet could be bad for you is absurd.
And for the record, I want one or two cookies, anyways. Not only are cookies common place in my house, but so are ice cream, bacon, full-fat cheese, etc. Yet I've managed to lose a considerable amount of weight and lower my body fat percentage.
Why are you even here? JSF.0 -

Hmmm, which advice to take --
Happy person who has been here 3.5 years, lost weight, and is a BAMF or person who has been here a month with a substantial chip on their shoulder about good food/bad food with no progress or success of their own so they try to ruin others?

Now you're just being petty. I'm sorry you haven't worked on your ability to not eat everything sitting in your kitchen and that one or two cookies isn't enough for you.(now me I had a cookie with some ice cream and dark chocolate chips last night. Went to bed happy) I'm even sorry my cookies (which lots of other people seem to think look awesome) don't look good to you.
Mostly I'm sorry your issues run so deep that you must project them all over my thread. I hope you find some inner peace along your path to better health.0 -
I have all sorts of food in my kitchen. Potato chips. Chocolate. Cake. Ice cream. Cookies. Steak. Butter. I eat it too.
I lost 41 pounds, averaging 1.5 pounds a week and hitting all my micro targets.
If you want to do it differently, be my guest, but the OP has found a way that works too. And it is sustainable over the long term. Instead of being all judgy, perhaps you can look at this *different* way of being SUCCESSFUL and learn something.0 -

Speak for yourself. I regularly make cookies and just eat one or two every day until they run out. I don't believe that cookies are in any way compromising to health when eaten in the context of a healthy diet with an appropriate number of calories.0 -

You might want to try upping your calories by a hundred or so if you are hungry enough to binge between meals. I've found that vast majority of adults eat an overall healthy and balanced when they allow themselves the freedom to choose what they want to eat0
