I opened this thread because I was curious, but I really don't see how anyone can be angry when the topic stated that it was "for anyone trying to stay away from meat." Vegetarians need their motivation too. Don't open a thread you know you disagree with, read it, then act all offended, just to start a fight.

Just like to point out the organic animal products are not necessarily more humane
Neither are cage-free. People think it means that there's luxurious farm land for the chickens to run around in. The reality looks more like a really angry-chicken version of times square on new-year's eve.

Some probably do. There's that whole urban chicken farming movement. People literally put diapers on their chickens so they can live in their apartments with them. LOLOLOL

I'm 99.9% sure that's exactly what would happen, and I'm pretty sure I've seen it more than once.
I'm a vegetarian, but I've never watched one of those videos, and I never will. I have my reasons for choosing not to eat meat, and I made that decision based solely on my own feelings and beliefs. It was never because of anything that someone else said or did.
It's the right choice for me, and I never doubt it. But I don't believe it's possible to change another person's mind about something unless they're open to that change in the first place, and I don't believe in forcing or guilting people into changing their lifestyles. When I was younger, I was an avid meat eater, and what other people said about it made no difference to me. It was something I had to come to on my own.0 -

As a vegetarian of 20 years, I STRONGLY disagree with the theme and intention of this post.
People can make decisions for themselves. They don't need you to shove sensationalist videos down their throats.
As a vegetarian/sometimes pescetarian I want to cosign this sentiment. Vegans are usually the worst offenders in this self-righteousness. It achieves nothing and just alienates people.0 -

If you watch the video, these animals are sentenced to death before they are even born. They are put onto assembly lines to their death, and gruesomely so. A majority of you are so quick to hop up for a rebuttal and argue that you are missing the whole context of what I am saying. Take responsibility in what you do: plain and simple. I don't believe in taking the life of any creature unless there is rightful merit. I don't think the actions undertaken in this video fall under that category. I have an aquaponics garden. I eat the fish, they are delicious. But I don't confine them to horrendous conditions nor do I allow them to suffer. I don't have a problem with eating animals, it's just the mainstream practices are not ethical.0

Op, i love animals. I do, i really do. I won't stop eating meat, although i do think we need better laws to make sure they get decent treatment. There's no need for cruelty.

I eat meat.. and after almost crying at that video, I will continue to eat meat. I do not agree with their methods of killing them... But honestly, if they inject chemicals into the animals to kill them, they are just contaminating the meat and it will not be sell-able. I don't agree with them being beaten, left to slowly die, strangled, or not cared for at all.... But people are going to continue to eat meat, so these companies have to sell it..0

I'm not sure who will fight for the apples and carrots!? What about the tomatoes too?
No I will take this seriously a bit. Think of the organophosphates and other poisons we "marinate" our produce in?? The only ones that survive it well are the genetically modified ones. Which Monsanto is cool with, they got 27 more different GMO crops besides the cotton, corn, and soybean we utilize everyday. And of course that harms us too, but who cares about us?
We SHOULD ALL have enough sense to realize the fallibility in that logic. Everything trickles down the food chain. And it is usually the animals we consume that have the most of these residual chemicals and minerals in them due to their hierarchy on the foodchain/human consumption
