Coconut Oil

Many of you guys use it? Would you recommend it for cooking meat/veg in sometimes?
Just doing out my food shop for tomorrow and was considering switching things up a bit with my weekly meals, is this a good source of fat?

Our neighbor who is a heart specialist found out that I had bought coconut oil and was cooking with it. He told me to quit using it.....its a fad and very very bad to clog arteries!!!0

I cook vegetables with it. Sometimes rice or quinoa.0

Yes coconut oil is much higher in saturated fats than say, olive oil or flax seed oil.0

It's a fat, try it out and see if you like it. I like to switch up things as well. I wasn't a fan of the coconut oil. I will be trying out pure lard and seeing how that turns out.
Rice bran oil - great oil to cook with. Food doesn't absorb it much.
Canola oil - neutral. Not a fan as I like oils with a taste.
Olive oil - Always have on stock, esp. EVOO.
Flaxseed oil - great to have for smoothies.
Lard - Regular (wet method, mostly likely). Trying out shortly as Smithfield is within driving distance.
Butter - hate it.
Coconut oil - hate it.
Ghee - hate it.
Sesame seed oil - hate it.0 -
