I'm only 5ft 3ft (136lbs) and am maintaining on 1800-2000 cals with 5 workouts per week (25 mins strength/35 mins cardio)
You folks will find you can eat more than you are currently doing and still maintain :-D
(I have a Fitbit which keeps me right for TDEE/cals burned)0 -
I'm 5'6 and transitioning into maintainence soon!0

I have invested in a pedometer for about 25 dollars and its the best thing I have ever had! I have never realized how many miles I walk each day at work. My goal is to walk 9,000 steps each day, that's about 6 miles. Its such a wonderful motivator, and I recommend everyone should try investing in one. Mine tracks calories, miles, steps, steps per minute, and aerobic steps (which I really have no need for). If your just wanting to track steps there are many others that are ranging in price as low as 6 bucks!
^^ agreeonly thing is for me I seem to have to do 12000 to do 5 miles -! I use Fitbit Flex

Well I'm not 5'6 but I sure do wish LOL I'm 5'2 and have been maintaining for about 6-7 years now after losing 100 pounds. I eat anywhere from 1900-2300 calories a day. A good mix of carbs, protein and fresh fruits and veggies. I work out about 1-2 hours a day everyday because I enjoy it and it is relaxing for me. I run, cycle, Cross Fit and everything in between so my calories tend to be higher0

Hi,
I'm 5'6 and maintain at 122-123lbs on around 1500ish cals. I tend to average my calories across the week so I eat less Monday - Friday while at work in an office and tend to indulge at the weekends...! It's working for me anyway!0 -
Even though every one is a bit different, this thread is helpful in terms of where to start. And runnerchick69, your story was just the inspiration I needed today.0

I'm 5'6" and I'm at 124 right now. I'm eating 1525 cals a day...but I'm still losing, so I'm trying to figure out how to maintain. I guess I need to up the cals, but I've been so used to the 1500-1525 calorie intake that moving up makes me nervous. I've been sick for the past month with the flu and a cold, so I haven't been running as much, and I think I'm going to run less (I ran 6 days a week)...so I'm thinking every other day...and the off days will be either strengthening days to build muscle mass or just rest days.0

5'6 - 131/132
maintenance really, really depends on your activity level - think of it as a zone, more so than a stagnant number.
for ex, if i'm eating TDEE - 1900+ - and staying active, i eat back all the cals over 500 I burn. if it's a lazy week, i eat 200-300 cals less. weight goes up and down +/-2 (water weight), and it's more peaceful to just gauge by the fit of your clothes.
everyone is diff tho, so good luck!0 -
I'm 5'7 and 145lbs. I was still losing while eating 1770 net ~ 2300 total. I just bumped myself up to 2500 and hopefully that will stabilize things.
In a week I do 3 days of NROL + 4 hours or roller derby + daily dog walks.
I just started Derby about a month ago and was maintaining fine at 2300 cal until I started that.0 -
I'm so glad this thread is here! So interesting. I have been trying to decide what I want my maintenance weight to be....it's tough because we all wear our weight differently.
I'm 5'5.5
30 years old
starting weight: 143
current weight: 127
goal weight: my app is set to 115 but I really don't know, the fittest I have ever been was 125lb at my wedding and I was SLIM PICKINS.
Net cals for me it set at 1360, I'm good with it, I eat back like 75% of my exercise. And I exercise daily.
It's a must when you eat a bagel EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.0 -
5'6" 140lbs maintaining with 2700 to 3000 calories a day.0

I'm 5'5.5 and 134 lbs. I'm set at 1900 daily (although I'm over often) and I'm still losing a little a month. I exercise about 3 times a week, mainly cardio at the moment as I'm going through physiotherapy for muscle damage. I maintain at 2100-2300 a day.0

5'6" and ~ 125. I eat anywhere from 1500 to 2000+ depending on my activity. I use a FitBit to help me stay within my maintenance calories.0

I am 5'5" and I eat less than the 1200 calories a day. I still eat carbs (gasp!) and cheese. I also let myself have 1 to 2 glasses of wine every week. I do about 5 hours of cardio a week and I lift just a bit. I am staying at about 121lbs. I think it is a great weight. I like to work on tone and performance for my fitness test at this point.0

5'7" and my current weight is 137lbs and I am slowly gaining to 140 lbs (due to glucose levels increasing and the advice from fellow members here). I have just entered maintenance and have been increasing my calories by 50 for the past 2 weeks. I was sitting at 1500, I'm now at 1600 with a plan of increasing to 1700-1800 calories - this is mainly due to being in the first trimester and KNOWING that I don't need to "eat for two" - unfortunately it has taken me 4 pregnancies to figure this out  BUT, even if I wasn't pregnant, I would still be aiming for 1600-1800 calories a day as I LOVE to eat. Also, I choose not to eat back my exercise calories. My current routine is running after a toddler, being a 1950's house wife (which I LOVE and LOATH at the same time), and doing heavy lifting at home.0

I'm 5'5.5, 124/125 lbs and maintaining at 2000+ calories. I was losing at 1700-1900.
How anyone can survive at 1200 is beyond me.0 -

5'7" 128lb maintain on 1750 cals net (sed/lightly active) then I eat all exercise cals back. The jury's out on whether that number may be a little low now.0

I am 5'6' and maintaining at 129 lbs on an average of 2150 calories/day. It took about 2 or 3 months of gradually adding calories until I stopped losing and I have maintained now for a couple of months. I lift weights 4x/week and do some cardio 2x/week. I'm 43 y.o. Best of luck with finding your maintenance!0
