    After six months back on my '75 Raleigh Super Course (which was showing it's age, just like me), I finally invested in a new bike. Missed the first week and half of February out of town, but since then I've put 223 miles on my new CAAD10 105. I've got at least one more ride in me this month so I will hopefully be able to hit 250 for the month.

    I'm just soloing it close to home, but I was able to increase my avg speed over an hour+ ride from 18 to 20 mph with the CAAD10. The 105 shifters are a dream compared to my down tube shifters. Wow. Definitely loving the new bike.

    As always, I'm blown away by the people in this forum. Talk about inspiring. Keep on riding.

    February 1 - rode 29.8 miles for a duration of 91 minutes
    February 2 - rode 47.2 miles for a duration of 150 minutes
    February 3 - rode for 30 minutes recovery spin (not counting for miles) and did weights
    February 4 - rode for 19 miiles for a duration of 60 minutes
    February 5 - rode for 10.1 miles for a duration of 30 minutes and did weights
    February 6 - rode for 29.6 miles for a duration of 90 minutes (included 5 x 6 minute L4 intervals)
    February 8 - rode for 28.4 miles for a duration of 90 minutes
    February 9 - rode for 40 miles for a duration of 120 minutes
    February 10 - rode for 3 miles for a duration of 10 minutes and did 60 mintues of weights
    February 11 - rode for 18.6 miles for a duration of 60 minutes
    February 12 - rode for 10.4 miles for a duration of 30 minutes and did weights
    February 15 - rode for 28.2 miles for a duration of 90 minutes
    February 16 - rode for 8.6 miles for a duration of 30 minutes
    February 17 - 21 - Got SICK!!! Took 5 days off the bike, but did short weight lifting sessions instead.

    **I am training for the 2014 XC Mountain Bike Racing Season. Goal is to increase my 2013 monthly duration by 10% (and get a bit more lean and mean to improve my power/weight ratio).

    Thanks jjking54, way more bike than I need right now. I fell victim to the LBS great deal. No complaints from me though.

    I went out today and finished off those 27 miles I needed. Nice crisp afternoon ride to hit 251 miles for the month (13:12 duration). I probably need to set my goal to 250 miles each month, but I've been setting it low (150) and making it easier to hit. At least bumping it to 200 makes sense.

    SingingSingleTracker, are those miles on a mountain bike? Great job by the way on the consistency. I notice a lot of the people posting here have a routine set. I'm impressed.

    Nice bike. Mine is CAAD4. It would be great riding yours. I like to think that the truly knowledgeable appreciate my bike. Many young people who know their stuff, and most longtime riders of ultra expensive bikes like it. The new 105 exceeds the stateoftheart from yesterday. Have fun on it!
