You can't go by "scale" weight. It really is meaningless. I am not trying to be mean but realistic. I'm 5'7 33" inseam (close to 5'6) At 26% body fat I weighed 145 lbs and wore a size 14. At 17% body fat and quite tone I wore a size 6. I also weighed 145 lbs.
Medium frame, broad shoulders. (never petite)0 -
5'6'' here and I find that anything in the 130's is a good weight for my body type.
I am 5'5.5" and my name is Josie too! I am think that the 140's is my sweet spot.0 -
In high school I was 135lbs and wore a size 10...
In my early 20's I was 158 and a size 8...
I am 42 and weigh 164 and wear a size 7....
Ideal weight...eh...I care about BF%
what she said0 -
This is tough because it matters what your body composition is. I'm 5'5.5" (husband says 5'6" lol) and I'm 131 right now. I've been 125 (size 2) but everyone told me I was too skinny. I go between 130-140 and am pretty happy here (size 4/6). I also look better at 130 than I did at 125 because of weightlifting.
The thing about being taller is that your hips get in the way of getting into too small of a size. I looked emaciated at size 2 because my pelvic bones were sticking out. At the point where your bones are sticking out and you still think you are too big, you have unreal expectations. So yea I like 130-140 and fit rather than lower and skinny.
So...at 130-140 you are super lucky to wear 4/6. You must have a lot more muscle then I do. I am 5'6", just under 140 now and medium build, but I am still in size 12. Not complaining as it is a big difference from the 16/18 I was in, but I don't think I will ever be a 4/6. I am jealous...0 -
My ideal weight for me would be back down to 120-140lbs. It is what i felt most comfortable being around that weight and it is the weight that is healthy for me as well. everyone is different though.0

I'm 5'6'', and looked "too thin" at 115 lbs. I think anywhere 120-135 still looks good0

Interesting how some people, at the same height, didn't have periods when they were 120+. I got pregnant on accident when I was 110-115 and have never not had a period!
My lack of a period was probably more related to being in a calorie deficit for such a long period of time. Although at 121 people did feel I was too thin. I was doing a lot of modeling at the time and even photographers who knew me back then think I had gone too far and have been pleased to see me take more a direction towards fitness modeling. But plenty of people can be 5'7" and lighter than 121 and be fine. I think for me, I naturally carry so much muscle mass from years of sports so now rather than fighting against the grain of what my body want to do I am embracing it and letting it take me a new direction with my career.0 -

That's why a lot of us don't care about weight...it's more BF%...it's Muscle mass.
I can wear a size 6...it's tight but I have bought some for my 158-160 mark (actually have worn a 6 when I was 161 a couple weeks ago before vacation)
Lifting weights does that...eating enough protien while lifting does that.0 -
I am 5'6" and my CW is 168 but I would like to get down to 145 pounds. My ultimate goal is to fit in a single digit pant size!!
Same here! LOL...although, I"m 44:laugh: The lowest I've been was 156, but looking back...I didn't have the muscle I do now. I"d love to see the 140's. Heck...I"d be thrilled to get out of the 160's!! I was told by a trainer that my goal /could/should be 136. Eh...maybe. Seems kinda low for me. Ultimate goal...145 :happy:0 -
I'm 5'6.5" with a goal weight of around 115lbs. Small frame, no children, and 34 years old. It's an adult weight when I was fittest and had the most energy. Currently 142 and tired.0

I'm 5'6 and currently nearly 34 weeks pregnant, but before I was 154lbs and a size 6/8. I weigh more than I look! My lightest years ago was 145 but I did no strength training then.
After this baby (this is my 3rd) I'd be happy to get to 150.0 -
I am 5'6" and currently weigh 174. My lowest weight was 128 many years ago (upon release from the hospital)--but you could count every one of my ribs and you could have hung your hat on my hip bones. In addition, my arms and legs were very flabby (no muscle left)--so I wouldn't want to go THERE again! I'm sure it contributed to my subsequent rapid weight gain.
I would LIKE to get to 135-140, as that used to be a comfortable weight for me before I got sick. Realistically though, I think I will be thrilled when I get to 155 as the weight loss is extremely slow at my age (66) even though I get a fair bit of exercise and do a bit of resistance work. The good news is that I probably have almost as much muscle now as I did when I was a teenager (and I was pretty athletic back then). I wear a 12-14 and would expect to be 8-10 at 155 or below. Don't really have any desire to be below an 8.0 -
My goal is longer term goal is sub-160, which apparently is high based on others on the board but even when I was in HS and running 40+ miles a week, I was never less than 140 and had lots of muscle. And I was never lower than a size 10.
So I am more concerned with getting back into a decent sized pair of jeans than I am with what the scale says.0 -
I'm 5'6" and my goal weight is 170. Body comp, FTW.0
-
I'm 5'6 1/2". I was between 160-170 during high school and was chunky. I'm aiming to ultimately get down to 130-140, but am going to reevaluate when I hit 160.0
-
I am 5'6 1/2 with a fairly large muscular frame. Between 150 and 160 is a sustainable goal for me. Below that and I have trouble maintaining. Above that and I am not comfortable. It is all about what weight you feel good at and can maintain without taking drastic measures to maintain a number.0

I'm 5' 6" and I've been up and down all my life. This time when I started MFP in January my SW was 205.2, CW is 188 and goal weight is 165lbs. After my son was born in 2000, I lost weight and was down to 150, the lowest I've been my adult life. I look at pictures and want to be there again, but yet, when I was there I didn't see what I see in the pics looking back. So its hard to say what weight I'd like to be at.......I don't want to set an unrealistic goal and not reach it, so I've set it for 165, and if I can get there, then I may reset it to lower if I still feel the need. The first time I joined MFP in 2012, I lost 30lbs, my lowest I got was 167, then I stopped doing everything I had been doing, and gained all that, plus some back. So I'm starting this time at an even higher weight than before. Discouraging to say the least. It makes me wonder if some of us are ever really happy or we still see ourselves in the mirror the way we did at our starting weight?!?!?0

I'm currently 148 and in a size 6. I'd like to get down to 136 and back into a size 4. I got down to 127 and a size 2, but it was too hard for me to maintain. I let myself get all the way up to a size 20 and have been every size from a 2-20. I really liked how I looked when I was a size 4. I tend to carry a lot of muscle, especially in my legs. I also have a lot of excess skin from being so heavy in my mid to late 30's...sigh.0

I worked my but off on a step machine for 6 months -5 days a week when I was 19. When I was done losing 95lbs I wore a size 12. I weighed 185lbs. I am 5.5 and a half. So... almost 5'6"
I'm taking the same approach to exercise this time around. Hopefully my food addiction will be better maintained... now that i'm older and wiser. So, once I lose this weight, I never plan to quit exercise.
I'm sure I had a little bit more weight to lose back then... but I looked good and was happy.0 -
Getting my BF% down is most important to me, but my GW is 145. I think that's where I'd feel best. My lowest weight was around 123 in college. I looked unhealthy thin. After getting married, I was good around 140/145 range.0

135lbs in the two right pictures, I'm 125lbs now 5'6", 240 -
I'm 5'6" and CW is 156. I'm at my healthiest (can eat normally, exercise regularly but not excessively and not be horribly hungry) at 145 - 150. I'm also 45 yrs old. I was healthiest in my teens and 20s at around 135, but that would be very difficult for me to obtain. I'm a medium build person who tends toward muscle, so any smaller would mean I'd lose a lot of muscle and that would not be good.0
-
I'm just a hair over 5'7". I'd say I have a small-medium build (my middle finger and thumb overlap when I encircle my wrist).
In high school I was 125 and was addicted to cardio. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when my weight ballooned to 180 after college. I got down to about 138 last year. Now I hover around 150 lbs. I'd like to be 135-140.0 -
I'm 5'6"
SW: 160
CW: 147.8
GW: 1350 -
I'm 5-5 and 52 years old. CW is 165. My goal is 140 pounds. That was how much I weighed at 30 after having our two daughters and I felt reasonably good at that weight. Of course this time around, I'll be in much more fit at that weight so I'll see how 140 works when I get there. Thinking positive and staying focused!0

5' 6"
My goal weight is 150. I have a large frame, wide hips and big boobs. I dont look good under 140.
But, really - healthy - that is the goal. To look and feel healthy.0 -
I'm 5'6" and currently weigh 135 (25.35% body fat) with a goal weight of 120 lbs or 20% body fat. I have a small frame, for reference.0
-
I'm 5'6 1/2, slim frame (can wrap my fingers around wrist)
Start weight last year was 150, current weight is 135, goal weight is around 130. My current goal is to get BF% down.0 -
My healthy 5'6" weight was 152. I looked and felt good , although at the time I wanted to weigh 142. I am now almost 20 pounds heavier. I am very unhappy and just want to be back in those 150's.0
-
5'6"/36yr old/medium frame - current weight 138lbs. Started out with 225lbs - size 16-18.
Can fit into a size 6 nicely and have a pair of size 4 I can squeeze into with a bit muffin top effect. (Need to TONE!)
Main target weight is 135lbs but want that extra cushion of 5lbs to work with so ultimate goal is 130lbs. I am fluctuating between 137-142lbs these few months. My lowest so far I was 134lbs but seems its hard to go anymore under.0
