I'm so discouraged, frankly. For three weeks I was being extra careful beyond my normal carefulness because I had only one pound to go to hit my mini-goal -- logging everything, allowing myself some treats so I wouldn't go nuts and quit, exercising, just being sane and balanced and eating at a good deficit, and in two weeks I've gained five pounds. And it isn't even due to my cycle.
So I think I'mm'a leave the group because clearly whatever is happening is going to make weigh-ins suck for a while, and I'd rather not suck in public. If I have to admit in public how fast the scale is going the other way I am afraid of getting so discouraged that I give up completely.
Yeah, I know, that's not the way weight loss works, this is temporary, etc etc etc. Recovering ED-er here -- I can tell myself stuff all I want but there's a knot of crazy that feeds on situations like this. So I have to step away.

I had a very up and down week. (Went from 232 to 231 to 229 to 233 to...) Previously it would have made me very frustrated and caused me to over work out or over diet or both which would then end in a binge eating after loosing control. This time, however, I tried very hard to get rid of those thoughts and just kept going knowing (or at least kept telling myself) that the scale will eventually go back down. And it did!! Back to 229. So small victory. Hopefully I can keep this going.

That sucks but I would say DO NOT give up. This happens to me so often I felt as if it was I writing that message. Even my last week was like that. This time I'm trying not to let it get to me and make a long term goal instead. My goal now is to just eat healthy and within a certain calorie limit until a certain time. And also to eat if I'm hungry or have a treat if I really really feel like it. This way I don't go crazy with cravings. And just log those treats accurately and make up for it during the day.
Just try for another week or two maybe. Ignore the need to weigh if you can. Think of it this way - you're not dieting to loose weight but to make your body healthy, so even if you don't loose weight your body is still healthier than it was the week before.0 -

I have been on MFP for almost 2 years, and fell off in logging my food and exercise. Broke my foot, so my exercise was nonexistent. Now I'm +10 lbs since November and I'm uncomfortable. So I'm back on it.
If I make my March goal weight, I will reward myself with a dress for the spring.
