Congratulations! You worked really hard for this. You should see the new Lego Movie and adopt the theme "Everything is Awesome"-because you are!

I read your post with tears streaming down my face. Your story is my story, as well as the story so many of us are living. I weighed more than you when I began my journey. I had that exact same moment when I bought a scale and stepped on it for the first time. It make me sick, literally. I threw up. Just the effort it took to step on the scale was enormous, and all I wanted to do was sink back into my comfort zone, the chair I literally lived in because it was the only thing that would hold me. I even slept in it. I would have been an easy excuse to continue slowly killing myself, wearing blinders to the reality of what I actually did weigh. I could have given up then and there.

Instead, I did the scariest thing I think I have ever done in my life. I called the hospital and told them I needed to know my weight and asked them if they could help. The allowed me to come in, in a wheelchair, and sit aside while they weighed it, then had me get back in it and weighed me with the chair, subtracting the chairs weight. On a freight scale. I cried the entire time. I was shaking so badly I was unable to stop. I was having trouble breathing and felt sure I would pass out when I saw the reality right there before my eyes.

It took me several days to calm down, stop eating in an attempt to drown the pain, and formulate a plan. It has not been an easy process, and as with you, even after losing the first 200 pounds I have trouble remembering at times to give myself credit for how far I have come.

You have done an amazing job, and I know your family and friends are incredibly proud of you. All the best to you as you continue on your journey!

Thank you for sharing and for the new philosophy of making it through the day, focusing on the present. I am inspired to make that promise daily too. Just today, I will eat less and move more for myself. And then I'll make the promise tomorrow for the day, and so on.

You are an inspiration to me and I have to say THANK YOU, I also fought my weight my whole life and yes tried everything also. I too realized the only "quick fix" was not quick at all, long hard work and determination and never giving up. I recently (6 months or more) have been just "getting along" and not being committed to my change but when logging back in to MFP and reading your story, so many of the things you talk about are me too and it was just what I needed.

Continue fighting that good fight and again
    THANKS
