"unhealthy" foods?

i see this phrase used on here all of the time. most of the time it's used in the vaguest possible sense and no actual foods are named. however, when the foods are named, the term is invariably used incorrectly with those foods. thus, i figured that maybe it's time to start a list of actual, honest-to-goodness, "unhealthy" foods on here, in order to differentiate them from the ones usually cited solely due to non-scientific food shaming.

i only know of 1 actual "unhealthy" food that's ever been cited on here.

hemlock... hemlock is actually unhealthy for you. do not drink it. ever.

does anyone know of any others?

Whether or not it's healthy is debatable, but broccoli is evil, and that is a fact.

Not when it's covered with cheese!

    Liver creates a gag reflex.

Agreed. The only time I ever ate it, it was totally wrapped in bacon. The aftertaste is terrible.

c'mon people. this is a serious thread.

i'm adding one more to my list.

black licorice. rumor has it that black licorice can make you hate candy, which is a terribly unhealthy thing.

my suggestion is to avoid black licorice. it's not worth the risk.

In my circle of moms, unhealthy foods = highly processed flour/corn with High Fructose Sugar. Usually something that you can eat from the bag, (snack food other than fruit) or things that come from fast food places or are fast food like that you can make at home, like chicken nuggets and tator tots. For some of the mothers this also includes anything that their kid is sensitive or allergic to.

Licorice (the real kind) can cause toxicity in large quantities (how much exactly depends on the person).

Of course, I hate licorice so no problem here!

Unhealthy foods are those that don't make me feel well on multiple levels. I avoid them not because they are "bad" foods but because they are just not good for me.

Ummmm except those of us with CJD macro targets. I've heard it's a really good way to cleanse your brain, and seizures are great for burning calories.

    Stay away from daffodil bulbs.

Some wild mushrooms are also unhealthy.

Another black licorice lover here. As far as "bad foods", it may not be unhealthy but that fake Artic ice cream is pure evil.

Raw chicken (especially if it dances!) Anything that fights back when you try to eat it.

Any food you fall asleep in.

Unhealthy to me are foods with weird fillers and stabilizers like plastic, wax or sand in them.... Artificial dyes... The weird preservatives that are only allowed to amount 0.02% of our foods or whatever. (I still eat these foods though haha. Frosting every single day, straight out of the jar.) And of course any plant that is literally poisonous haha.

But no carb, protein, starch, sugar, etc is unhealthy to me. I don't believe the body discriminates against sources of energy.

But for some foods the quantity needed for it to be unhealthy is quite low.

Like daffodil bulbs. You only need a small amount to get extremely sick, with risks of death.
