Chia Seeds

Just like previous posters, I mix them in yogurt, oatmeal (regular and overnight), salads, water to sub for butter/oil in some recipes...But smoothies are where they shine for me. I use 1/2 cup of oatmeal flour and 3 (I think?) T. of chia seeds per 4 cups of fresh fruit/yogurt/whatever is going in the blender, and make it the night before. The chia thickens the smoothie so you don't need ice or frozen fruit, and it stays good for days. I make a blender full and it usually keeps for a week (depending on which fruits I used). Also it's perfect to send to school (my kids love smoothies) because it stays thick without using ingredients that will melt before lunchtime.0
