How important is a post-workout shake?

When I go to the gym I like to do a lot of cardio and I'll do some weights and pilates a couple of times a week. Is it necessary to do a post workout supplement? I already have one, but I don't use it because I'm not sure how necessary it is? I spend at least an hour at the gym when I go. And I do the cardio because I like it so no one knock it.

Honestly a shake isn't required if you can fuel up properly throughout the day to support a good recovery. since you have it already...Use it if you like and see how you like it but otherwise...Save your money and eat real food0
