This thread is one in which a new fitness and dietary challenge is posted each week. We also post our weigh-in numbers for the week on Monday (when the challenges actually start). For those returning, last week we all seemed to fall off a bit but I'm nothing but optimistic about THIS week! We can do this! :flowerforyou:

Here are the challenges/format to post for this week: (ANY one can join in at ANY time!)

FITNESS CHALLENGE:
To burn a pound of fat you need to burn 3500 calories, so let's burn a pound of fat this week! (or burn as much of it as you can :tongue: )

DIETARY CHALLENGE:
Drink more water!!! :drinker: Drink half your body weight in ounces of water. For example, if you weigh 200 lbs then drink 100 ounces (12 and a half glasses)

    Hello! I'd love to join your challenge this week... sounds like GREAT motivation! This will also give me incentive to get back to weighing in just once a week, on Mondays, something I'd gotten away from in the past few weeks. I will be back tomorrow with my weigh-in number (hoping to finally be under 170!) and to start this week off right! Thank you for the great challenge, and best wishes to everyone involved!! :)

    Hi there,
    I will be joining you if that is alright. I have been having a bit of a torrid time of it lately and really want to get back to it so that I have a bit of a comfort zone for Xmas.

    So, my goal is set: 500 calories burned + 85.2 oz. of water each day this week. :-D

    I'm working an 8-1 shift at work tomorrow so I'll be jumping straight onto the cross trainer soon after I get home :)
    This is such a good idea btw :D I've been slacking with my water lately and I need a good kick up the back side haha

    Weight loss sucked this week, I think my body is making up for the big loss last week. Here's to hoping this week goes better! Good luck with the challenges everyone!

    Okay, so I upped my water yesterday and did around 500 cals of exercise..... And I lost a pound! You might have a formula here !!!

    After a little while MFP makes it so that you can't edit your posts. I typically just copy and paste the previous day's post for the current day, adding in the update.

  • I'm leaving that calorie burn goal at 3500, however it's unlikely i'll get there. It's my first week back in the gym after an ankle sprain and I'm not going to push it. My plan is to work out at least 4 times this week which would put my goal realistically at about 2200 cals burned.

    This sounds like a challenge I need! I've been a slacker when it comes to my H2O intake!
    I weighed in this a.m. and was disappointed with the number I saw, but I'll work hard to lower that number this week!
    Weight this a.m. was 165.3
