No makeup

To the men replying here saying they like "natural" girls without makeup - let's get one thing straight. You don't know a damn thing about makeup and, if it's done correctly, you won't notice it's even there! Those girls you say are "naturally beautiful" - I bet at least half of them have makeup on. As if men are even observant enough to notice such things. You know you're too busy staring at our chests and butts to notice if there's makeup on our faces anyway.
I am referring to the fresh face look right after a shower.
actually kind of insulted by that remark.
Personally, i fall for the eyes first.0 -
NO MAKE UP DAILY but i will put some on if i feel like it. I am more of a tom boy but sometimes the girly comes out...LOL Most days it wouldn't last because of my work...like wearing it to the gym. Everyone has always told me i look great without it anyway. Natural beauty is great. Saves money too...HAHA0

I like makeup. It taste like the chalk stick that come in packs of fun dip.0

Statistically speaking, I'm pretty sure my husband and I have sex more often when I have makeup on. So...I'll keep wearing makeup and continue to care less if other people think I'm vain for doing so.
Uh oh, did this thread turn ugly?
All I've ever seen in your photos is hotness (as evidenced in your profile pic). I've never noticed any makeup. My eyes were busy elsewhere I guess.
Nah, no ugliness. I just got a bad vibe since I commented on the makeup thread that the OP is referring to. Nothing but feel-goodz in that one.
Thanks for the lovely compliment, though.
Yeah, I missed that other topic. Good thing I am 'working from home' today and get time to catch up on the boards.0 -
Not to start a debate but I always said "Natural beauty requires no makeup"
well, that blows....
 I love you!
I think it's nice to go without, but it's also fun to wear it. Just like yoga pants are nice, but so is a sexy dress. And I do see your point about nail polish. I think being a scientist...it just seems unhygenic to have long nails that you cant see through with god know what underneath. (I'm weird about this though).
I love you, too, but I don't wear nail polish.... :laugh:0 -
When I ask my husband if I should wear makeup or not, he always says no makeup. He does prefer the ultra natural look. Because even if I wear a dash of blush, it's still a natural look. It's just his preference. Also when I ask if I should wear clothes or not, he says no clothes.0

I rarely wear make up. I'm not very good at this girling thing...
I love it...i always think "ooooooo the pretty colors" but if I have 5 minute in the morning to slap something on my face or 5 minutes in the morning to spend talking to my daughter over cereal, I'm going to pick my daughter.
When I DO wear make up, usually I get "Hey...you look....shinier....fresher.....perkier" today....maybe because I tend to wear it neutral as I work in a professional setting...
make up (while pretty) doesn't define me...i'm good with or without it.0 -

I'm not a makeup person either. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but I grew up watching my mom spend so much time putting it on and taking it off and panicking over someone seeing her without it or wouldn't go swimming because her face would get messed up, etc..., I just never wanted the hassle. My mother was and is beautiful with and without makeup, I just always felt like if she wouldn't have started wearing makeup in the first place, maybe she could've avoided all that. But if it makes her feel good and she doesn't mind putting in the effort, so be it. I just know, I don't want to live like that.0

I don't like makeup and really didn't start wearing makeup until I was about 15 or 16. I wear it sometimes, but haven't worn it to work in several days. I enjoy rubbing my eyes when needed and not having to worry about smudges. However, I do love crazy nail polish colors for my toenails. That's all I ever paint.0

I don't give a fuhhhh about makeup. I do like my hair looking nice though. Although if I do it is mascara. People tend to think i'm stoned 24/7 if I don't wear mascara0
-
I almost never wear makeup. If I wear it it's usually a little eye liner and mascara - maybe some foundation stuff as well. I've only ever worn "heavy" makeup twice in my life: once going out clubbing, and once for my anniversary (profile pic) - and both times I had to get a friend to do my makeup since I have no idea how it works and not a lot of desire to learn. Frankly I find it a lot more effort than I'm willing to use to apply makeup and when I wear it I always feel like there's some kind of odd growth on my face and keep trying to wipe it off. Besides, my bf tells me I look good without makeup & he like it better, so I'm happy.0

I don't wear it on a regular basis. It makes me sad when women say they can't go to the store or even to get the mail without it. I can't imagine being that uncomfortable in my own skin.0
-
But sometimes men are silly and don't understand make-up. In highscool I wore only burgundy lipstick (no other make-up). My friend wore full foundation, blush, eye make-up, and a light shade of lip stick. And guys thought I wore tons of makeup and she wore none.0

I like wearing it, and like how I look with minimalist/ "natural" makeup on, but I am almost always too lazy to bother. Maybe once a week I'l slap some mascara on. Maybe.0

I don't want to start a battle on the makeup thread. I see a lot of people posting there that they love makeup and nail polish and love to wear it and feel prettier with it.
My own personal take is that I don't like to wear it and I feel lighter and better when I don't wear it. I do wear some of it when I have to (to work and for weddings, big epic nights out and stuff) but I usually can't wait to wash my face.
Usually I just have a little eyeliner maybe, and that's it.
I don't like wearing nail polish on my fingers.
Maybe I'm the only girl who feels that way?
Nope. I'm a moisturizer and chapstick girl. The only "regular time" I wear makeup is BB cream or a little bit of concealer when I need it. Other than that I only wear makeup when I'm dressed up to go somewhere, which actually doesn't happen much since I work so much. So really, it's more like when I have an interview or meeting with an official that I'd put in the effort.0 -
<- Natural look.
I'm bored at work. :yawn:0 -
I LOVE makeup! If I'm feeling blah all I need to do is put some makeup on and I feel refreshed and more outgoing. If it makes me feel great then why not?0
-
If I don't have any on people start asking me if I'm feeling okay, that's how washed out I look without it.0

I see NO problem with women going natural and completely makeup free.
Me personally -- I have worn makeup every day (seriously) since I was 8-9 years old. Even in middle school I was applying foundation, powder, eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, and lip gloss or lipstick every morning of life. Including weekends.
However, as you may be able to tell from my pic I am not a super duper femme makeup diva type...quite the opposite. I am pretty low key and don't even consider myself to be high maintenance.
In the past year with my recent weight loss I've noticed less issues with uneven skin tone and redness, which is nice. But I still feel naked without makeup. I have friends and family who don't even think I WEAR makeup. One of my best friends who has known me since we were in our teens (now 37) thought I just wore eyeliner & eye shadow.
One thing for me is that minus lip gloss or balm or lipstick...I do not reapply throughout the day. For example, in my profile pic I'd spent about 10 hours traveling, going to flea markets and antique malls, walking, etc. Probably a lot of my makeup had worn off, and that's fine with me.
Nail polish is another issue. I MUST have polish on my toes, I just feel prettier that way for whatever reason. But my nails are bare much of the time because I paint them and I'm too OCD to handle even a tiny bit of chipping, flaking, etc. And too cheap to have them professionally done...so there you go. I remove it after as little as 15 min (if it smudges that quickly) or 3 days MAX.0 -

Yup! I have been on the other side of that my entire life :-)0 -
I wear a little eye liner and mascara most days. Lip gloss sometimes too. That's all that goes on my face. My nails and toes ALWAYS have to be painted. It makes me feel girly and pretty.0

I have to wear makeup due to the fact I have acne due to my PCOS (a hormonal condition). Well, I don't HAVE to but I'd be very embarrassed if I didn't.
I don’t have PCOS, but I know the feeling. Years of acne as a teenager that is now flaring up again after quitting BC makes me feel awful going out without it. However, I get told all the time that people are shocked to find out how much make up I do in fact wear... so at least I know I wear it well and it looks natural.0 -
I like it when I'm going out, but not when I have just worked out.

I only wear make-up for a night out or a special occasion like a wedding. I don't like the feel of it. I put some eye liner and mascara on to go out for our wedding anniversary in Aug and had to take it off as my eyes started itching. It was expensive, good stuff, so I wonder if it's because I was just pregnant then that it had that effect.
When I was in my early 20s I used to wear make-up to work every day, and straighten my hair.0 -
I love make-up. I've worn it most of my life. I honestly look sickly without it. Dark circles under my eyes and pretty blotchy skin from sun worshiping as a teen. I wear concealer and a light foundation. Normally, I will line my eyes and use mascara. I try not to wear too much, My profile pic is wearing the MOST I ever wear. I never wear lipstick. I find that no matter what color I choose, I always look too made up with lipstick. Chapstick is ok.0

I hate nailpolish on anything but my toes. But I LOVE my makeup. It is my best friend. I have a lot of acne and scars and it hides it somewhat. I know you guys will probably say the makeup clogged my pores to give me the acne to begin with but acne is in my genes.
I wear foundation, mascara and some chapstick. I am working on getting new breakouts under control and then I will love to go out without makeup. I wish I had awesome skin.0
