I have hypothyroid (underactive) and am doing okay. I have never found that my thyroid prevented my weight loss or made me gain. I was diagnosed 10 years and take my medication religiously.
But I do know that it does effect a lot of people's weight - Do you feel your thyroid is keeping you from losing weight? Or are you not feeling well because of your thyroid?0 -
I want to start out by saying I am in no way a health care provider or specialist - I am only sharing what I have discovered for myself. I had the left lobe of my thyroid removed two years ago due to cancer, which led to hypo. This is going to sound crazy but here it is - after about 2 weeks of eating AT LEAST one cup of fresh blueberries every single day (I LOVE them!), I began to feel better and the weight has been coming off. Give it a try! Really, can eating a cup of fresh blueberries every day hurt you? Good luck. Keep moving forward and don't look back.0

I am underactive and really havent had much of an issue with losing weight. Everything I have read regarding this states that once you lose the weight, it is hard to maintain. I am finding this to be true since I am in maintenance right now. I am just making sure I eat right and excercise every day. I have been doing this for 3 months and my results have been way above what I expected. Good luck with it becuase I know how bad it sucks. Are you under or over active?0

I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease). I lost more slowly than most MFPers, but I've successfully maintained for a year.
I followed the advice in the Sexypants post: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p10 -
