    it does have flour...

    •1 1/2 cups blanched almond flour
    •2 tablespoons coconut flour
    •1/4 cup golden flaxseed meal
    •1/4 teaspoon celtic sea salt
    •1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
    •5 eggs
    •1/4 cup coconut oil
    •1 tablespoon honey
    •1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

    and to the OP I wasn't critizing...I was asking as Paleo spefically says no bread...as it is processed and uses method which were not available to Paleolithic man...

    And I know this as I have family who are die hard paleo eaters...no bread of any sort...no processing of foods that wasn't present during that time...etc.



    EAT:
    •Grass-produced meats
    •Fish/seafood
    •Fresh fruits
    •Fresh Vegetables
    •Eggs
    •Nuts
    •Seeds
    •Healthy oils (Olive, walnut, flaxseed, macadamia, avocado, coconut)




    DON’T EAT:
    •Cereal grains
    •Legumes (including peanuts)
    •Dairy
    •Refined sugar
    •Potatoes
    •Processed foods
    •Salt
    •Refined vegetable oils
    •Candy / Junk / Processed Food
    Key here is "processed food" and to grind the nuts = processed

    I'd love to hear what you think of it. I am mostly Paleo myself, and currently on the low carb spectrum to finish losing the last 15 pounds. (I've lost 127 in the past 3 years) But, every now and then, I enjoy a Paleo friendly treat. The great thing about it, is that as long as you stick to eating meats, fish, nuts, seeds, fruits, veggies, and natural sweetners such as honey or maple syrup, there is no 1 right way to be Paleo. Sometimes I enjoy some rice with my Thai food, or a little bit of fresh cheese, but other than that, my daily food is Paleo.

    The grind almonds, coconut & seeds and use that to make it. No yeast is required. I'm not a baker, so I can't exactly go into the very detail about it.

    I'm not even asking if you agree with my choice- I'm asking about the taste.

    I don't even care what you eat! I was just asking why it was allowed and what makes it okay. Geez... :grumble:

    You're absolutely correct. After I posted it and thought about it, I did add to my original post that the combination of words may sound dumb. Regardless, the bread is quick and delicious and I wanted to share with OP because it's a more affordable version of the bread they're speaking of. The use of the word paleo merely means the recipe uses paleo friendly ingredients, not that cavemen had the ability to make it. Obviously, there are as many different levels of paleo as there are vegetarian. I'm not strict paleo, but I do enjoy many of the recipes because I like to keep things simple. To each their own! :drinker:

    Well actually a lot of people do. Labels mean a lot. If you promote something as Paleo it goes along with the flawed concept of Paleo. You tell everyone it's the caveman diet then you back peddle just so you can include certain other things within the diet. (which what the Paleo industry and supporters have started to do)

    Paleo bread is just another example of why the Paleo concept is so flawed. Eat what you want I have no problem with that but please stop trying to pretend it's something it's not
    So don't eat pale. Focus on YOUR eating and move on.

    exactly. paleo argues that cavemen did not eat grains

    but then almond flour and coconut.flour have just been around in a decade.or so. at least.grains like.rice and wheat have beeen around thousands of years

    it also.boggles my mind why people.who.label their.lifestyle as "paleo" when they drive cars, buy stuff instead of hunt, and live in homes, not in caves

    they should.call their lifestyle anti.grain, not paleo.since they are not living the "paleolithic way"

    How is it not paleo if it is made only from things allowed by paleo (almond, coconut, etc)?

    Well let's look at the actual definition of BREAD:

    bread
    bred/
    noun
    noun: bread; plural noun: breads

    1.
    food made of flour, water, and yeast or another leavening agent, mixed together and baked.
    "a loaf of bread"


    See nothing about coconut, almond, etc.

    coming from a culture that uses.coconut, coconut.flour.is.not used there and not even traditional. it.is a.western invention, not even paleo. how can it be paleo when almond or.coconut flour are RECENT inventions? rice flour.is.even older than.those.since.it has a long history in asian pastries

    because it is easier.to blame health issues.on grains rather or food rather than.their.own behavior.towards food.u

    I don't eat a Paleo Diet, but I did try the bread, and if it helps, save your money. I suppose if you aren't eating any bread and are craving it, it will suffice as a poor substitution, but it is extremely heavy, very mealy, and almost hard to swallow. But, just like everyone's diets, everyone's tastes are different. So since you already ordered it, I hope you like it :)

    Hmm not sure about Paleo bread. I have had the sprouted grain bread {Ezekiel} but im sure that’s not Paleo… The cinnamon raisin kind is delicious!

    Between this Paleo thread and the clean eating thread I feel like I am supposed to eat a couple of slices of pizza or a cheeseburger for dinner tonight and if I don’t then im the ‘devil’ lol.

    I have a lot of criticisms of the "paleo diet," but its undeniable benefit is that it gets people to eat less processed/pre-packaged junk food and that is always a win. So I feel like buying "paleo friendly" packaged foods defeats the most healthful aspect of being paleo.

    You can try making banana pancakes for breakfast instead. All it takes is two eggs and one ripe banana. Mash them together into a batter and fry them in coconut oil.

    It makes perfect sense. Ethical vegans/vegetarians who perviously liked bacon still crave the taste of bacon.

    98% of people who are veg didn't choose it because they like the taste of tofu and hate the taste of cheeseburgers, they choose it because their morals have more sway than their tastebuds.

    That having been said, veg bacon is super gross.

    It's the internet sweetie. Yes there's lots of good ppl on MFP, but being the internet you'll get lots of trolls and plan old d!cks. I've seen quite a few know-it-alls thinking that their opinion is the only correct opinion and anything you say in opposition is dead-wrong and perhaps even a personal attack. Gawd forbid you should have a different idea than they have :yawn:
    Plus ppl having a bad day :tongue: Edit: Gawd knows I can be (unknowingly) a d!ck when I'm having a really bad day.
    Ignore these ppl, or even block them completely. It won't help your weight challenge being exposed to negativity.

    I'll cede that they're not really pancakes, they have more of the consistency of a crepe. If you add baking soda to them they get a little fluffier, though.

    I don't think they're gross, they're actually one of my favorite things. I like them with honey and berries or yogurt.

    Most "Paleo" eaters of today are not hunters and gatherers and they live in man-made houses, use stoves and oven, internet, cellphones, not caves and they drive cars -- things that our "Paleo ancestors" did not do.

    It is not "Paleolithic lifestyle". It merely is ANTI-GRAIN and low carb diet. So get real. As much as I'm not into the vegan diet, at least they are more upfront with naming their diet. Call it what it is.

    Which is why if you want to label your diet, better to base it off from the cultural cuisine it has evolved from.

    As mentioned, Paleo doesn't include bread. If the intention was to ask about taste, then OP should have just asked "Does this bread taste good?" Certainly just that question by itself would have reduced this to only a page or 2 long.
