My morning shakes are usually really green and doesn't contain much fruit (I prefer to eat my fruit).
I just finished this:
1/2 c of spinach
1/2 c kale
1/2 c beets
1/2 large lemon (no skin)
1 scoop of hemp protein powder
1 tsp of grounded chia/flax seeds
1/2 tsp of wheat germ
Water
Blend in Nutrabullet for about 30 seconds.
It was pretty good and I'll make it again. The lemon really shines through and mask the bitterness of the kale.
When I want more of a fruit smoothie this is my go to:
1 banana
1 cup strawberries
1/4 cup pineapple
3 tbsp of natural, plain yogurt
1 scoop plain whey isolate protein powder
(I usually throw in some seeds or nuts)
ice
water
Blend in Nutrabullet for about 30 seconds. When I have served this to others they said it taste like something they would pay for.0 -
