Memphis in May BBQ-fest! 2 weeks away...
I going to eat all the meats and the chickens and the sausages and...um...and...did I meantion I get free VIP passes for Southern Towing's tent? Yeah baby! Alls the BBQs!
It's a good thing you have a pass for a tent as it is near impossible to buy BBQ at a BBQ cookoff. To this day that still blows my mind.0 -
So, what is your favorite barbecue?0

Texan here. I didn't know they knew how to BBQ elsewhere0

We just had rib eye steaks tonight. My husband makes the best.0

not really a bbq fan...however, I do like my own ketchup based bbq sauce which I put on my (wait for it)....tofu since I don't eat meat...(please be kind to me!!!) LOL0

South Carolina girl here. The best barbeque is pulled smoked pork with spicy mustard sauce. Sooooo delicious.
Now I want barbeque.
Same here! A Maurice's fan, I presume?
Now that I'm in FL, 4Rivers is my local fave.
Edited because how in the world could I forget Smoke 'n' Guns in KC.
Yeahhh I could talk barbeque all day long.0 -
1st place: Monroe County BBQ. Like no other.
2nd place: BBQ mutton Owensboro style.
3rd place: Kansas City ribs (St Louis isn't bad, either).
4th place: Tuscaloosa ribs. They do it right, there. Just ribs, sauce, and wonder bread.
5th place: Kansas City brisket.
6th place: Memphis pulled pork.
Best BBQ sauce: Kansas City. Memphis is good, but can get a little sludgy.0 -
As a north carolinian, I am torn between the vinegar + tomato BBQ and the vinegar+pepper BBQ.0

Best BBQ in Houston? I need something to seek out while I'm stuck there for 8 hours.0
-
Ribs, baby back ribs.0

stuff I grew up on.
Don't mean to sound like a smartass, but bbq-type meals are usually social or familial and as such our tastes will have more to do with memories and habits than the objective quality of the food.
TL, DR : everyone prefers the BBQ they grew up on.
With that being said, IMO if your meat needs sauce to taste good you're doing it wrong.0 -
