I'm in the final 6 weeks of training for my first full marathon on June 15th.
Then I'll be cutting down on the miles a bit and upping the strength training for a 6 KM 17 obstacle mud run on July 26th.
I don't have anything planned for the fall yet in terms of organized races etc. But it doesn't mean I won't be running and showing my weights who is in charge.0 -
I'm training to finally do my first full century ride soon and to be able to average 18mph for my second MS 150 in October. My goal is to end the year with at least 2000 miles. I have some weight that I'm trying to drop, but I'm mainly focusing on endurance and lowering my body fat %. I'm also very nutritionally focused, and my diary is open. Always open to new liked minded friends :flowerforyou:0

Actively training (tapering) for the Comrades Marathon June 1st. After that, I'll swing into normal fall marathon mode, which some trail ultra-prep mixed in.0

I am doing an 8k obstacle mud race on May 31st called the Punisher Adventure! I have been actively training for it lately!0
-
I have my first duathlon on May 18.
7.2 mile race that I do every year the first weekend of June.
If I like it there's another one i want to do in July.
I am also toying with doing a half marathon in October. I haven't done one since 2009
Unfortunately all of my races will be done alone.Husband was training for the du also but he twisted his ankle and busted his toe. :grumble:
I'm not 100% sure on the half marathon because training will be during the summer (read: FUN) time and my long runs will be on the weekend.0 -
Training for a bunch right now.
Punisher Obstacle Course the end of this month
My first 10k next month
8k Mud Run in July
2nd Tough Mudder in August
And then various runs in the fall between 5k and 10k
Always welcome new active training buddies!0 -
First 10 mile race in October. Increasing long miles slowly to avoid/minimize knee pain. Up to a long run if 8.5 miles! Now to get there without two days of pain afterwards????0

Ice bath after the long runs. They suck balls but they make a huge difference.0 -
Punisher Obstacle Course the end of this month
Something about that name makes it seem unfriendly lol0 -
Me and my dog are doing a K9 5K in October! I'm almost able to run 3 miles and he can run circles around me but only runs about 1.5 miles because thats all I will let him do in the heat. Once it cools down though we will be training some more In the meantime I've been doing other random 5Ks and other workouts. I plan on getting a bike soon too!0

Training for my first Marathon in October! Also will be completing a half marathon in June, July and September leading up! Tough Mudder looks awesome, I have a friend who did it and loved the challenge!0
-
Yep. I'm training for a half-marathon in September!
I will shoot you an add if you want Anyone else feel free to add me. I'm currently trying to maintain.0 -
Powerlifting competition. Aiming for one in November of NEXT year. I need plenty of time to get used to the idea of wearing a singlet (which is required for this comp) :grumble:0

I totally want to do a tough mudder at some point! I trained for a 5k and my next goal is to complete a 10k... we will go up from there!!0

Wine & Dine Half Marathon in November0
-
I have a sprint Triathlon in August, other than that, fun races that I don't truly train for
Tap N Run this weekend
Warrior Dash - August
Foam Fest - August
The Triathlon is enough for me to actually train for, I just did one at the end of March, so trying to build on that to get faster. I mostly compete against myself, but like to beat my brother in the tri0 -
Color Run (my first 5k) in August and hiking to the bottom of the Grand Canyon in September.0

Not exactly the same I know, but I'm an actor looking to get back out there and found out a local company is doing one of my favorite musicals this winter. Auditions are in November. One of the roles I'm aiming for does require you to look sexy as well as having a killer voice... so I'm training both my body, and whipping my voice back into shape as well
Like I said, not the same thing as an athletic event, but that's the mindset in which I'm putting myself, the better to keep my eyes on the prize, as the saying goes :glasses:0 -
<< always training for the zombie apocalypse.
but I did volunteer to do two hours in a relay for life, next month. I'd like to get 10 miles done in that time.0 -
Right now I'm maintaining my fitness as I'm running quite a few halfs. I just ran one last weekend, have another one on June 7 and then next is June 28. In August or so I'll be increasing my miles and heading towards my first full marathon in October.0
-
I am training for my Spartan Trifecta this year. I am doing my Super next Saturday, eeeekkk! My Sprint and Beast are at the end of the year.0
-
Training to push my funeral as far into the future that I can.

Considering an October marathon (October just seems like such a nice month for a 26.2 mile race...). But definitely running a half in November, and I've got a few races this summer that are my short-term goals: an 8K on the 4th of July, and the Bix7 at the end of July (7 miles of HILLS. Woo hoo!).0

10-miler this weekend
Half Mary 05/17
Half Mary 06/01
Half Mary 06/28
And I'd be here all day if I continue ???? I have four more HM's and lots of shorter stuff and that takes us through the end of Sept.
Feeling out the idea of a 24-hour ultra in October.0 -
I am not even close to goal weight but this thread motivated me to register for Relay for Life in June. Thanks for the motivation - I live a sedentary life but now I have to get busy so I can make it around the track more than once. It's only one lap at a time.0
-
My first 5k is scheduled for June 22. I haven't ran consistently in two years, not that I was much of a runner before :laugh:0

"I'm training to be fcuking fabulous" I'm not sure there is an event for how fabulous I can be- but when there IS one- I'm going to win- no questions asked.
this is my answer to ALL questions about me training- and yes I have had people walk up and ask me if I was training for an event.
That being said- I'm officially training for my first power lifting meet- but I haven't changed much other than doing a specific program- I'm actually lifting less than I normally do LOL.0 -
Running my 6th half marathon at the end of June, and then will begin training for my first full marathon in October! Feel free to add me0
