YES!! YES!!! YES~!! just DO IT!! lol... for the price/protein/high fiber.. which fit lovely into my lower carb lifestyle.. they have replaced candy bars in my world!.. I have tried so many other ones and these are the best.. plus if you go to their website there are TONS of dessert-y type recipes they come up with... they do these 15 second recipes on instagram that are awesome!!!0

Anyone see the lawsuit for nutritional mislabeling?
Apparently they have been lying their faces off about the content of the bars.0 -
Well, that was a little bit overblown. I think it all comes down to whether or not IMO are "fiber" and whether or not those should be counted as 1.5-2.5 calories per gram or 4 calories per gram. Since I'm not worried about ketosis, I don't much care about "net carbs", and most people who do low carb are going to know not to eat tons of "frankenfoods" that use a lot "net carb" trickery to get the carb counts low.
I would be interested in knowing if the calorie counts are off though. I calculate 220 calories in the apple pie one, not 170, and 225 in the strawberry cheesecake one, not 160. That's a pretty sizable difference. This is why there's a thread "you're eating more than you think"! :laugh:0 -

Yea I always wondered how their calories were so low when others were much higher. I assumed it was because of the no added sugars and stuff... but i know that doesn't really make sense... but I guess we will see.. Maybe we can all add our names in and get a nice little check when they settle.
(ha that we will probably spend on quest bars.. LMAO)0 -
Someone recommended these to me recently. After reading through the thread, I'll definitely have to buy a box and try them. I wish they were on sale somewhere right now!0

I can only eat 1/2 a bar, otherwise I get horrible bloating and am very uncomfortable for the rest of the day. I only eat the ones sweetened with stevia because I get headaches from sucralose. I'm not going to buy anymore since they don't seem to agree with my system...
FYI, if you send them a message on Facebook they will send you TWO FREE BARS (!!).0 -
Don't buy a box, buy one or two. I've tried most flavors myself and shared with a dozen people. No one liked them. If you nuke the for about 10 seconds they are tolerable if eaten right away. Probably would recommend the brownie one if you go that route.0

I usually eat 2 a day - as a snack between meals.
I did find that they were too expensive at the shops so I go to www.HealthyNotion.com as they are fans of quest bars and know where the best place to buy is.
At the moment www.iherb.com seems to have the best price and you can get 10% off your first purchase with this discount code: VHF3350 -
They are very tasty and filling, but they give me really bad stomach ache.
I just think it's the amount of fiber in one little bar. It's nearly a day's worth.0 -
A friend recommended them to me - GNC had buy 2 get 1 free - so I got 6 - I didn't like the PB one. Cookies and Cream was good tho. I have others left to try so we will see. I keep them in my desk for when I forget to pack lunch or need a snack.0
-
LOVE them!! They are tasty, help curb that need for a sweet treat and I need help reaching protein #'s. Every other month I order a box of Cookies and Cream and a sample box of 12 different flavors (this month I also ordered 12 singles - a few extra brownie, lemon and coconut cashew). If you choose 12 singles you will get box price and if you use coupon code "workout" free shipping. The Brownie on tastes like a tootsie roll. I break them into small pieces while at work and eat them like little caramels.0

as for your other question of adding more protein. I really don't know what your daily goal is, but I don't seem to have that problem as a vegetarian. but my goals may be different than yours. I don't consume processed vegetarian meat, to me its kind of worthless. the rare occasion I do its a BBq type outing. I do however fill up on eggs, a plant fusion protein shake, beans, lentils, wildwood sprouted tofu or tempeh, quinoa, leafy greens, sprinkles of hemp seed etc. it all adds in my book. hope some of those options help!0

Wait, so the calorie information on the Quest bar is inaccurate? What's the cheapest place to get them? The best price I've seen is $24.99 for a box of 12 which is still rather expensive. I don't like that they are high carbs but that's a given for all nutritional bars.0
-
Yes, the nutritional information listed on the bar is inaccurate. They've subtracted calories for each gram of fiber.
Take a cookie dough Quest bar, for instance. The information listed is: 190 calories/ 8 grams fat/ 21 grams carbs/ 21 grams protein
8 grams fat x 9 calories = 72 calories
21 grams carbs x 4 calories = 84 calories
21 grams protein x 4 calories = 84 calories
That adds up to 240 calories.
There are 240 calories in this bar, not 190 (as listed).0 -
Son of a B! I'm glad that I just started eating these bad boys and was under for my caloric intake that day. Well that's disappointing. I'm more concerned with carbs than calories right now but it is still unfortunate. As well, it just makes me more paranoid about inaccurate labels of other products.
Gees, I'll just like stick with eating air from now on.0 -
You can manually add up your macros at the end of the day for more accurate numbers.
Take fat grams and multiply by 9.
Take carb grams and multiply by 4.
Take protein grams and multiply by 4.
Add up and there you go.
I tend to put this actual number in the notes section. Sometimes there's quite a difference between MFP totals and manual totals.0 -
I don't even care about the calorie count being off. I can spare 50-70 calories if it means satisfying my sweet tooth.0
-
we should boycott Questnutrition until they bring down the price of their quest bars0
-
I vote yes as well. Less candy bar-ish and better nutritional macros overall versus other brands (and I've tried a dozen or more).0

My only beef with Quest is their use of artificial sweeteners. The cancer link scares me. Just a bit. So I don't eat them. But many ppl (mostly guys) I know, love them and feel they're worth the $0

If I'm not mistaken, Quest bars are sweetened with stevia, which is a natural sugar?0 -
They are a tasty treat. That is all.0

There was a story on the internet recently about a guy who ate a Quest bar every 3 hours while he was awake and lost 78 pounds on that diet. I wouldn't recommend that but when I heard that I immediately went out and bought a bunch. They are very rich and satisfying.0
-
They are good quality bar, They have changed some of the ingredients in the bars that come into Canada. Liked them better the old way. Still not to bad.0
-

-
