Hey MFPers!
Here are my results for far:
5'5"
SW: 230
CW: 159
These pictures were taken 2 months ago at 162ish. I'm looking for opinions on what I should set my next goal to be. I am trying to get a feel for what weight I should/could maintain. What do you guys think? Ladies in my range - what weight do you think would suit me?
PS I know normal BMI for my height corresponds to weight of 150 or less but I'm looking for more of a personal answer based on these pictures and my previous history.
Thanks!!

First off let me say congratulations!! You look fabulous! Looking at your build I don't think you want to go under 145 lbs, but I also think you look great now and could stop now... but since it seems that you want to keep going maybe set a goal of 10 lbs and see how that goes, how you feel, look etc. Do you have any fitness goals you could focus on? Like a 10km race or something?0

Hi! Our stats are very similar. I started at 230 and have since lost 75 pounds. I'm 5'4 and now weigh 155. My next goal is to lose 20 more, to put myself at around 135. I think Rosie got it right when she said you could totally stop now and feel great about the way you look or push for ten more. You look fabulous! Congratulations on your weight loss!!0

Have you considered weight training?0

Thanks for your replies! I am working towards a 10k (actually, ran 6 miles for the first time today!) I have been doing some weight training and lots of squats. Any areas you think I should concentrate on?0

Have you considered weight training?
I agree. You look great. You could definitely stop losing weight and start losing inches.0 -
I think you look fabulous!! Gives me hope0

Wonderful!!0

Great job! You look really good. I've had two kids and stretch marks and loose skin are a part of me now but you don't have to worry about that so I say why stop now?
I think you should start focusing on weight training. You have lost weight but once you start lifting you will see your body truly transform. Once you replace soft and tender with hard sexy muscle you won't be disappointed. But this is my opinion because when I look at other women's body I believe that the lean built ones are sexier, it's all about what you think is beautiful.
You've come very far and I think with that kind of determination you can achieve anything. Good luck!0 -
You look amazing!!! I agree maybe strength training instead of worrying about the weight on the scale.0

More weight training, less cardio , you are so luckily you have a lovely shape....well done.
Make sure you eat enough protein...
Added you as a friend as want to watch your progress.0 -
How are you feeling about the change? Do you feel energetic, lighter, happier? Just curious0

You look AMAZING! And are where I am trying to be. Great job!!! Seeing you helps me realize I can do this!0

I more energetic and it's more fun to be active! But it's difficult to judge myself in a mirror because I still feel like a size 20 sometimes.0 -

Thanks for the advice. Why do you say less cardio? I agree, need to add more weight training...not sure where to begin! Any tips?0 -
You look great!!
I'm also 5'5 and started out around 220. I'm afraid my belly will never get flat like yours what have you been doing?0 -

Gee thanks! I lost the weight slowly so I think that helped. I have a little loose skin and of course some stretch marks that maybe you can't see in the picture. I didn't do anything particular for my tummy other than occasional ab exercises.0 -
Great job! Amazing progress.0

I would very much love to look like that. If you are happy with your body as it is now, no need to keep pushing. If you feel you want to keep going, keep on keepin on. You look fantastic! Good luck with what you decide!0

I'm with these guys.0 -
awesome job..you look great keep up the fantastic work...0

I am also 5'5" and at 158 lbs and I sure don't look like you do, if I did I would be a happy girl indeed! I think you look great, and as everyone else has said, you could stop if you want to. I am at a place that I feel like if I don't push now I may not ever have a chance to see what I am capable of and I want to know. I want to finish (I don't really think there is a finish) and know I laid it all out there. If you feel like that then go for it. As stated before weight lifting will cause changes that are all good.0

Im 5'5
Sw 203
Cw 160
Gw ? 140-147
I've lost 43 lbs since 1/1/14, with another max of 20 to go.
You look fabulous, well done!
I unfortunately definitely have more to go, as I still have a very flabby belly.0 -
You look amazing congrats. This is my exact goal, 165. I am 5'5'' also but I am wide in the hip area and back when I was still in the military 165 was perfect on me. Like someone else said I think you shouldn't go below 145. You look great and have done an amazing job!!0

You look great. Congratulations! I am 72 and really struggling to lose even the smallest amount. I have a lot of loose skin hanging down, so at this age I don't think there is any hope of my skin tightening up. Oh well, will cover the ugly skin with longer sleeves, and be grateful that I am healthier than when I started out. Cannot exercise because I am handicapped. That is one reason the weight does not come off very fast. Keep up the good work.0
-
You look great. At 5 foot 7 my goal now is to weigh 150. I find everyone's bodies are different though. When I was 150 I was a size 6 so I am going by that as well . Focus on the tape measure now and not the scale0
-
You look great! Keep with the weight training and I think you'll be very happy with the direction that takes you!0
-
We look similar--I actually weigh more than you right now, but I might have a bit more muscle and tone, which could explain the difference. The ideal weight for me is 145 pounds! Ultimately 140 would be amazing; but I would look very tiny. I'm 5'5 as well---so I would say shoot for 145. Congratulations on all of your hard work!0
-
Your shape is very nice. I'd say another 10 pounds and then add some weight training but this all depends on how you feel. If you feel content with where you are then stop losing and start firming. I've lost weight in the past and I'm like you in the sense that when I looked in the mirror I would still see the fat person. I've learned it takes times to change not only losing weight but seeing myself in a different way than what I became accustomed to. Great job! Good luck on the rest of your journey!0
