Does anyone else like to work out to metal. My family loves to crank tunes that keep us moving. It makes lifting weights, jogging in place, stationary riding, and wii-ing it up a lot more fun. Plus, time passes so much more quickly.
When we went camping last week our friend played his guitar and my boys and hubby sang (mostly growled lol) while I was making beds and getting stuff settled in camp. It was so nice to work to the tunes. What would have been borning and tiresome became a joy.

Hi, I absolutely love to work out to metal, it has to be done. My favourite so far is Rob Zombie for cardio - it has a great beat.
Add me as a friend if you like.0 -
Love Metal Music. I only have Metal on my Ipod.0

You can't tell by looking at me, but YES I'm a metalhead! Anything from Disturbed to Behemoth to Slayer to In Flames. If it's a sub-genre of metal, I listen to at least one band from it.... probably more.0
-
Yup... I'm more old school with a pop feel, though. AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, & Ozzy are usually in my running rotation.0

I'd like to add how awesome it is to be the only male metalhead in this thread (so far). Female metalheads are a rarity here, apparently.0
-
I metal!!0

Mmmmm....the more the better!! I just hit shuffle on Spotify and it's nearly soothing to workout while I have it playing...0
-
ONLY metal. Not just for workouts either \m/0

Old school thrasher here, but I can't lift without Hatebreed on shuffle (those inspiring lyrics)
Been a metaller since the 1980s. Yes, I'm old!!!0 -

Love working out to Metal especially Rob Zombie! How can you not get pumped? His remake of Brick house shuffle din this morning while I was on the treadmill and I found another gear!!!!
American Made Music to Strip By is probably my favorite album for cardio!!0 -
Yep. Most bands make my list. Cradle having a fair few slots on the player.
Although, I do have a varied list, because I do listen to random tunes as well just to change up the pace.0 -

Of course! Just any hard rock in general...keeps the blood pumping. Metallica, Ozzy, Disturbed, anything that builds and rocks it!0

I am kind of in the minority on this thread too, so it seems, as I am a 35 year old mother of 5. I have been to hundreds of concerts though. I spent my 30th Bday at a Six Feet Under show. No mid life crisis here!
We love almost all types of tunes except opera and rap but if we go to a concert it is metal. This years big show will be Amon Amarth. Our third time! I would also like to see FFDP, Volbeat, and Hellya. But it looks like they will skip Portland this tour.0 -
Workout out to metal gives me some of my best performances/workouts. Running to Rammstein is absolutely awesome.0

Whenever I am about to lift extremely heavy, I go with Lamb of God
Other than that, I love metal, whether is to workout, concerts, at home, in the car, anywhere!0 -
I think going to a concert should count as a huge work out. :devil:0

Back in the 80's I earned the title Metal Queen in my school. I have just recently caught up to the new Metal out there like, FFDP , Volbeat, Halestorm, Skillet, Pop Evil, Devour the Day ,Bobaflex, In this moment, Non point, Avenged Sevenfold... and the list goes on and on and loving everything.0

Bands on my current playlist:
Soilwork

Scar Symmetry

Mnemic
Caliban
Nocturnal Rites
Pantera
Down
Testament
Exodus
Deicide
Fear Factory
For Today
Slayer
and TONS more.0 -
Yes! I love working out to anything related to Phil Anselmo, apparently. Down and Pantera are great for long walks/bike rides, I like the mid paced stuff for a long workout...or the faster thrashier stuff for a shorter workout (do you know how many grindcore songs you can fit into 60 minutes? like, 80 songs!) I will also recommend Peanut Butter Wolf's 666 Mix album...he's not a metal DJ per se, but it's a set he did on 6/6/06 of a huge DJ mix of classic, thrash, power, and black metal set to a beat. I love playing it while I do a workout video with the sound off!0

Wow this thread has really taken off, I'm always wary when introducing myself as a metal head cos people can be quite opinionated and I might not get any friends
But it's great to see lots of other cool people out there besides myself  Add me x0 -

Working out to Rammstein is indeed awesome! The gym I go to has mainstream/pop music but I just sing it in my head! Definitely need to invest in a portable music player of some sort, but not a big fun of apple, so no ipod for me!
Other favorites: Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian and Primordial.0
