How much change can 3 months make

Hey, I'm a female and I am 5'7. I am underweight right now, and I want to gain weight but I decided to sign up for a gym and start weight training. I had an experience with it before for about 4-5 months, but it wasn't very serious. But in this 3 months of summer, I want to be commited to this and I want to gain weight and have a toned body and visible abs. I consider going to a dietician too. What do you think? Do you think 3 months can change my body? Do you have any suggestions for exercise/diet? Thanks

    id say if your underweight with already quite low bodyfat if your serious with your diet and gym then you'd see quite a lot over 3 months. . :-)
