I have no idea if it would work for you, but...for me? A quest bar gets me through the sweets munchies.

I eat anything I want and don't feel "bad" about it. BUT I watch the amount very carefully. For example, 6 MnMs, not the whole 12 oz bag. 1/2 cookie, not 2 dozen. 2 Tablespoons of icecream, not 1/2 the carton. When I do eat these sugary treats, I sit down and eat it very slowly, taking small bites, enjoying it, taking sips of water between bites. This makes it so that a small amount satisfies my desire for sweets.0

Homemade Skinny Chocolate Cake in a Mug
( 136 cals, 25 carbs, 0 fat, 5 protein, 10 sugar, 105 sodium, as per MFP Recipe setting)
2 tbsp Flour ( I used whole wheat)
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp Cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 egg white
1.5 tbsp skim milk
1.5 tbsp apple sauce
1/2 tsp vanilla
Put all the dry ingredients in a mug
Add all the wet ingredients
Give it a good stir
Cook in the microwave for 2 minutes ( or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean)
I splurged and put 1 tbsp of chocolate chips on top and melted them for 15 seconds! I then put a handful of raspberries on top.
So filling and delicious!0 -

This is a recipe for disaster...you know the OP will end up doing this 50 times a day0 -
I am so trying this recipe....0

Not the recipe for disaster, the chocolate cake in a mug one...0

On the average, I end up having one small treat per day, not 50. I don't feel deprived at all. I lost 5 pounds last month and am within 3 pounds of goal weight. I was just trying to share what works for me hoping it might help someone else. (Total weight loss is 30 pounds so far.)0

Try quest bars or other protein bars.
Honestly I fit what I want to eat in my calories, personally. Not always easy but typically it works... it was either that or depriving myself, and I'd rather enjoy my sweets.0 -
My go to for healthy recipes whether for a meal or snack is hungrygirl.com. Lisa has several good cookbooks, too.0

When I HAVE to have chocolate, I have a Fiber One 90 calorie brownie.0

Why not just eat fruit?
Fruit has sugar you know.
So I'd aim for something that tastes yummy like chocolate, but doesn't cause me cravings for more... a protein bar, a quest bar, even a south beach diet snack bar from time to time.0 -
Fudgy Cookies - 29 calories each:
500 grams of cooked butternut squash, processed until smooth.
Add 1/2 cup of cocoa.
1/2 cup of flour.
1 egg.
Half a bar of 70% chocolate bar.
Mix. Drop by spoonfuls onto baking sheets, making 35 cookies.
Bake on fairly low heat for up to 1/2 hour until set.0 -
FRUIT FRUIT FRUIT other than that protein bars, granola, and 80% dark chocolate.
And honestly, if I /really/ want something, I'll have it! I don't see how it's helpful to restrict yourself when food is food. I find it counterproductive to demonize certain foods when, 'Everything in moderation.'
I've just switched to eating the serving size instead of the whole bag/ carton/ box.
Also, these recipe's look amazing and I'm trying all of them! :bigsmile:0 -

Yes, fruit does have sugar in the form of fructose. Sugar is the preferred fuel for the body. But if you eat processed sugar, you are getting no other nutrients. Fruit is packed full of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and over 10,000 phytochemicals. It helps to maintain a steady blood sugar level, is low in fat, and the fiber helps to extract toxins in the body, and clean out the digestive track. There is nothing bad about fruit. Plus it can satisfy our sweet tooth.0 -

Sugar free fudgsicles (40cals each) and giant fudge bars (weight watchers brand 100 cals) both do the trick for me0
-
Just fit the foods you enjoy within your calorie goal. I have a cup of ice cream or a chocolate bar almost every day.0

And by toxins. What toxins do you speak of?
The is nothing bad with cake. If my diet has enough vitamins, minerals and fiber, then what's the issue?
Metabolization of all food creates toxins. With processed foods like cake, the toxins are higher. Cake is not in anyway healthy for you. That is what is bad about it. Go ahead and eat it. I do occasionally. Just don't fool yourself into thinking it is healthy in anyway.0 -

Have anything to counter my claims? Or just rhetoric?0

Metabolizing food produces waste. Waste, if not filtered by the body, can become "toxic" to the body. It is not toxic in and of itself if the body is doing its job.0

Another one I enjoy (even more than Hungry Girl) is skinnytaste.com. Gina has a recipe blog where she posts her recipe makeovers. Often times she will try a recipe multiple times with various substitutions until she finds the one that tastes the best and is still healthy.0 -

I've made these. Reduce or eliminate the nuts for fewer calories.
Five-Ingredient Banana Cookies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2 small over-ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup oatmeal (quick oats are better)
2 tbsp. creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
8 tsp. Polaner All-Fruit
Mix first four ingredients together. If you use old-fashioned oats, let the mixture sit for a few minutes, while the oven preheats. Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray (I used butter-flavored). Place batter by slightly rounded tablespoons onto the cookie sheet. Use the 1/2 tablespoon measure to make a depression in each cookie.
Bake 15 minutes. Let cool. Add 1/2 teaspoon of All-Fruit to each cookie, in the depression.
Serving size: 2 cookies

17 carbs
5 fat
3 protein
21 sodium
6 sugar0 -

The nitrogen compounds through which toxic nitrogen is eliminated from organisms are ammonia, urea and uric acid. All of these substances are produced from protein metabolism.
Ammonia(NH3) forms with the oxidation of amino groups (NH2), which are removed from the proteins when they convert into carbohydrates. It is a very toxic substance and only one nitrogen atom is removed with it. A lot of water is needed for the ammonia excretion. Thus, the marine organisms excrete ammonia directly in the water (aminothelic organisms), while the terrestrial (mainly amphibians and mammals) convert ammonia into urea, a process which occurs in the liver and kidney.
Urea is a less toxic compound than ammonia; two nitrogen atoms are eliminated through it and less water is needed for its excretion. Urea is a protein metabolism product at vertebrates and part of the invertebrates. These organisms are called ureothelic.
Uric acid is a protein metaporposis product of terrestrial invertebrates, birds and diapsids. Such animals are called uricothelic organisms. In humans and anthropoides, this acid is purine metabolism product. Uric acid is less toxic than ammonia or urea; it contains four nitrogen atoms and a small amount of water is needed for its excretion. Out of solute, it precipitates and forms crystals.0
