Restricted to only lifting up to 8lbs right now because of my spinal fusion I had 7 weeks ago. My 2nd (scoliosis). But I plan on lifting when it's healed.0

very jealous of the 300 plus benches.
there was a guy who was doing 495 at a local gym when i was in highschool.
you could see the bar bending.
drugs or all natural... it was very impressive.0 -
Push press, seated press, smith machine press, or alternated foot stance press is not an overhead press FYI.0
-
seated press should be much the same but harder0
-
way less then all of the above0 -

I don't think anyone has really listed any unreasonable numbers for OHP. So, why state this? Not like someone is saying 315 or something....0 -

ok? And your point is...0 -
lol, i said mine was on a smith machine, but i said that, and stated what i did with just a barbell. assumed it was pointed at me0

like that people are posting height and weight. my numbers were at 165 and i'm 5'8''.
from what can see, taller men simple carry more muslce mass, which just makes sense to me anyway.
sadface
not that mass = strength, but still0 -

FWIW - I read an article on Labrada's web site a couple of months ago that suggested a way to add variety to your routine. Instead of high weights/ low reps (ex 3 to 4 sets of 10-12 reps) this guy suggested High reps and low weights. Start with 40 to 50 reps of a weight that you can do that many reps, then add 10 lbs. and decrease the reps by 10 until you get to zero reps. It gives you a really good workout and a good pump. I have been mixing this in a few times a week on different body parts and I like it.0

^I do something similar to this as well - one day a week I do full body circuit training and do 5 sets of 8 reps at 50% my max.

wow dude, impressed. and thanks for posting exercises i do lol. 200 lbs hammers is a hell of a thing... lol i thought you meant 200 lbs dumbells at first but i see it must be some sort of two handed cable grip? still impressive, never seen anyone do 470 lat pull down.
to be honest with you, i'm not THAT far behind you on triceps... assuming thats a two handed press down. if its one handed your amazing. i could do 100 for 2 or 3 but with some body english0 -

495lb bench press with PED's?? Yes it is. PED's aren't magic, you still have to work your *kitten* off, eat right, and recover to get the benefit.0 -
I thought this was going to be a fun topic, with answers like "chairs and tables, refrigerator, a goat.."0

Well, that's almost exactly what one has said when he started using, that it "feels like magic" after struggling before. But it still is impressive when my gym's resident bodybuilder takes my recent max of around 365lbs bench and does it for 3 sets ...of 6-10 reps...without a spotter...
But yeah, still cheating :P0 -
My stats and PRs:
36 years old, 5'11, 245-ish
Squat - about 500 (testing next week)
Bench - 470 raw, 495 with shirt
Dead - 640
OHP - 290 strict
I've been a competitive powerlifter for about 6 years and currently delving into some Olympic lifting. And yes, I'm drug-free - I only compete in tested events.

Nice! 470 bench is much more impressive without drugs. Have you always had your lifts so close? I found its so much easier to go heavier in deads especially, and squats than bench, but you can squat about as much as you bench normally?0 -
Tested events doesn't mean a person is drug free.0
