I grew up with Nutella and LOVE it. I never buy it though because I can *not* be trusted near it and man, is that stuff calorie dense.

It's what Europeans use instead of peanut butter. Except the Dutch, they eat both. Forget toast - did you try sticking your finger in the jar and eating it plain? That's the preferred method.

    Like this, but with Nutella

It's already been said, but Nutella is the bomb-diggity. I fell in love with it while living in Germany and having access to the world's finest chocolates, baked goods, and ice cream. My preferred method of Nutella delivery would be on a croissant, but that's pretty rich for some. Heck, I'd probably eat a flip flop if it had Nutella on it.

I'm sorry, did someone say they made their OWN nutella? Uh, recipe, plz?
Also, anyone who doesn't love Nutella more than their own flesh and blood needs their pulse checked.

I've never tried it. All the Nutella threads on here tell me I'm doing my waist a favor by keeping it that way.

OP: I agree. Bought one jar a few years ago and it's way too sweet to taste anything but the sugar in it.

Spread it on a graham cracker. So good!!
If you add a marshmallow toasted over the burner it cuts the sweetness!

Sugar and palm oil(saturated fat) also probably not really contributing to it being a health food.

Nutella and banana sandwich in the morning is heaven. I only buy it occasionally because I can't resist it.

Oh yes. . . nutella and banana crepes make life worth living. Even just a bit spread on 5 water crackers is a fine way to end the day.

I stumbled across this one last week (I swear, I was really looking for porn, not a chocolate fix!)

    http://arismenu.com/homemade-vegan-nutella/

    Ingredients

    1 cup toasted hazelnuts
    2-3 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
12 ounces dark chocolate, melted and cooled
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    pinch sea salt
    Instructions

Place hazelnuts in food processor or Vitamix and blend until broken down and nuts start to form a big mound. Continue to blend and stream in coconut oil 1 tablespoon at a time until nut butter consistency. Add melted chocolate, vanilla and sea salt and blend until well combined. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 weeks.

Yea I'm going to have to go with the OP on this one, that stuff is just too damn sweet. I avoided it for years because I was convinced I'd get addicted if I tried it, not even interested in purchasing it again. I'll stick with my peanut butter.

    ^ Yum.

Nutella spread on crescent rolls, egg washed or brushed with melted butter, then sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Bake it up. Yummy.

I do prefer Justin's chocolate hazelnut spread in general, but either one in a crepe. I mean, it really doesn't matter what else goes in the crepe, I will eat it.

I LOVE IT! I ate it in my whole childhood, but I'm European. Then went to the US for a year 15 years ago and didn't find it anywhere. Later I heard it became widespread over there too. WE like it in crepe or make different kinds of desserts. We also have nutella icecream with real nutella layer in it. yummy...no wonder i had to come here to get rid of all those fat rolls caused by nutella :P

lol, a likely story! This one is way easier than the one I used actually...and with only dark chocolate to sweeten it...Mmmm

No really, I typed in XXX hot man, and the browser just took me to home made Nutella! All by itself. I swear!

Okay, I lied. I'm saving recipes like this in case PMS rears its ugly head and demands to be fed. At least that way I'll have to go through the effort of making it and I can control the ingredients.

    *hangs head in shame*
